Great value bread isn’t worth one red cent

  15. Tony Greene on April 14, 2023 at 5:31 am

I buy a lot of great value foods and products. The foods are good. I also buy the malt o meal brand of cereal, which is in a bag and tastes just as good as the well known brands. They have Post Consumer Products on the back of the bags..

Hands down Great Value Mayonaise is out of the Best Foods Plant.. Love it and I am picky!

  17. Tink on April 14, 2023 at 5:32 am

I use to work for a Sausage company. I am not going to tell the company. I worked inside the plant that made the boxed sausage patties. We made sausage for store brands. It was exactly the same sausage. We just used the store band boxes when we started boxing them up. We made sausage for a very famous fast food chain and breakfast restaurants as well.

Fun fact. The SuperTech oil brand that Walmart sells is manufactured by Warren Oils Inc, who basically owns/manufactures all the premium oil brands. SuperTech is pretty much Mobile 1.

Lays chips, Kraft mayo, hunts ketchup, ragu spaghetti sauce, a&w root beer, dannon yogurt, Oscar Myer bacon. Oreo cookies, chips ahoy, keebler makes their girl scout genetics. These I have heard make the great value products

  20. O Chenault on April 14, 2023 at 5:41 am

Great value is a good product

  21. MWJ '90 on April 14, 2023 at 5:42 am

I’d love for you to cover Wal-Mart’s Equate brand.

  22. Carl Bowles on April 14, 2023 at 5:42 am

Great value cheese isn’t the same as name brands like Tillamook or kraft but lesser quality and taste. Great value heavy weight aluminum foil is the same quality as Reynolds wrap.
Shopping store brands for minimum price and maximum quality /value is a skill that can be improved with consistent practice. The great inflation/recession of today is an excellent opportunity to practice to perfection. Thanks for this video folks need it.

  23. _W_ on April 14, 2023 at 5:42 am

If you can only figure out who makes the lousy Great Value fries now. I used to love that stuff but during the pandemic, Walmart switched vendor and the store brand fries are horrible now.

  24. Danny Harris on April 14, 2023 at 5:43 am

Well said.. I tell people all
The time, these generic brands are just as good and made by well known companies. Do you actually think Wal Mart has a Great Value manf plant ? No lol

Does anyone know who makes Great Values Toaster Pastries???

  27. Kyle O'Rourke on April 14, 2023 at 5:46 am

I’ve noticed the juice from great value is really watered down lol
    Great value my ass

  28. Jek Tono Porkins on April 14, 2023 at 5:48 am

When it comes to food products I’ll buy Great Value most of the time. I can’t tell a difference. I can tell a difference in non-food products, specifically aluminum foil. Trying to deal with a Great Value aluminum foil roil is like trying to wrestle an oiled pig. I’ll spend the extra dollar and get the Reynolds foil. Same with seran wrap and stuff like that.

Great Value bread is the BEST

  34. Geoff Holland on April 14, 2023 at 5:56 am

My first job was at an IGA grocery store back in the 90s. Very often I could show a customer our IGA brands were made in the same factory as the name brands.

My favorite story is Kemp’s Dairy. They made our IGA milk and Cloverleaf milk, another off brand private label.

An angry customer brought back an open gallon of Cloverleaf milk demanding we exchange it for Kemps. We did, of course.

But it’s the exact same milk. Our Kemps rep told me so. The only difference is the label on the carton.

The vast majority of the time generics are so good I would be more interested in seeing a video talking about the exceptions when they are not.

  35. Luis on April 14, 2023 at 5:57 am

Someone said Great Value ketchup is made by Heinz. If it is they have changed the recipe somewhere. I will pay more for my Heinz ketchup.

About 5 years ago in my local Walmart, I saw the Purdue guy stocking both the name brand & the store brand packaged chicken pieces. I asked and he confirmed that their was no difference other than the labeling on the package. The quality was the exact same.

Hello, Man am I glad to find your web page. I have been searching for months for Great Value brand of flavored coffees in the pods or kcups. I was so disappointed when all my local Walmart stores stopped stocking the great value Triple Chocolate coffee in the kcup style. Do you have any clue who actually manufacturers it? And how I can contact them? Or how i can order it online?
