Silversmithing from Scratch! Making a Quartz Crystal Pendant and Ring Using Scrap Silver!

Silversmithing from Scratch! Making a Quartz Crystal Pendant and Ring Using Scrap Silver!

In this one, we prepare for the holiday season by making some gifts for Alexis and my niece! We start out by taking a quartz crystal that my niece found and turn it into a necklace for her! After that, we make a “Colorwork” ring for Alexis; these rings are designs to keep yarn separated while knitting colorwork projects like hats and socks! I am extremely low on silver at the moment, so I thought it would be fun to make both of these projects using only scrap silver! I think they came out pretty well, and they were both big hits at Christmas! Let me know if you all would be interested in seeing more jewelry and silversmithing videos; It is something I do on a literal weekly basis so I’d be more than happy to show you all more! I hope you all enjoy, and I will have another one out very soon! Happy New Year!

You are a man of many talents, sir. I specifically enjoyed your use of various lengths of wires…I make jewelry myself, so any of the projects with lapidary or pendant making gets me excited to watch. The silversmithing was quite enjoyable, thank you for sharing your process and tips. Your videos are always giving me ideas on how to expand my hobby and maybe someday actually selling some pieces. Can’t wait to see the next one!

It’s been so cool to see all the Haunted Ridge stuff from Lisa showing up on all the channels. I just tried a little experiment heat treating that material… I hope it goes well… not sure if I had the fire hot enough long enough but there’s a video coming. I’m trying to get it to turn pink… ok I’ll shut up and try to learn something. I really want to make a necklace pendant but it’s something for the future

  37. Sandra Lane on August 18, 2023 at 7:16 pm

Theo, do you have a place you trust, where you buy your silver?

  38. tina Anderson on August 18, 2023 at 7:18 pm

I have a few small cabs I want to have set in cuff bracelets. Would I be able to send you some stuff and some scrap silver and you make something? I do not know where I can do that near me. Of course would also pay.
