Rockhounding GARNET CRYSTALS!! The Biggest Garnets I've Ever Found!!

I’m getting really close to finding the source for these garnets, hopefully on the next trip up there I’ll find it. I was quite surprised just how big those garnets were and they are actually the biggest ones i have ever found. I hope you all have an awesome week and thanks for coming along with me on another adventure

Are you on Vancouver Island? Love the videos, I used to harvest garnets as a kid in Ontario.

Your large garnets are as big as small thunder eggs we can dig here Liam!
Your videos remind of when I lived closed to the Coast Range Mountains in Oregon. It’s beautiful when it’s not raining! Keep up the great videos. You are doing a very good job with them!
I look forward to when this COVID is under control and we can travel again. B.C. is beautiful!

Those are getting so big. You got some nice soft rock to work there. You must be used to it, but I would avoid that creek for all the devils club there.

What a steep climb! Great fun exploring with you. Garnets are large. Can they be polished? To reveal a color/shine? Thanks for taking us along

Nice garnets. I have a friend that found a garnet the size of a baseball. I shit you not! My single biggest garnet is 196 carats. My friends garnet has got to be easily 700 or 800 carats easily, as theirs is about 4 or 5 times bigger than my biggest one. I have 11,300 carats in total garnets myself. You look like you’re over by walker valley, tbh. I know there’s an area over there you can find garnets. Also near Heather lake. All the garnet you’re finding is alluvial. Its being eroded out of ancient stream beds probably 15 to 20 feet under over burden.
