"The people who came up with this are sleepless Babylonian Romans and Greeks" Wow.. you mean that civilizations that were around for MUCH longer than ours. Tyson is such a fraud and it’s fine cause in the end he will have to pay the piper for whatever luxuries he’s receiving to spew such close minded ideas. We all don’t fully know, and we probably don’t have the senses to entirely understand our universe. However, this man acts so obnoxious, a true teacher should be helping other seek out the knowledge. This world is very strange and for those who seek to find out, they can learn. You might go crazy, but you might make it through to see the truth. This man is a deceiver, and he want’s you to think "inside a box". Ask yourself why you put blind faith in these experts, in these teachers. Anyone can show you a few magic tricks in science class to indoctrinate you into believing 100% they teach you. I love you my friend, please seek out the answers, love above everything!

People who try to attach their lives to something more meaningful believe in astrology. "But Its deeper than that" is the only counter they can make and it’s a such a bad one.

Believe what you want but remember if you dig too deep you may get stuck in that mindset forever. Think for yourself and use good judgement.

People love making correlations. We’re naturally gifted at it. But we’re also great at confirmation bias.

    Correlation does not mean causation

Thanks for this video. I’m going now to a "workshop to interpret birth charts" just for fun. I’ve spent whole Halloween sick and I need something fun and spooky! 😀
Wish me good luck for my mental sanity! 😀

I think it’s weird how this pre scientific era is being dismissed and the title of this video is wrong. nothing was disproved , it was just said there’s no science behind the findings.
What I would ask is to scientifically predict love. ??? what’s that you can’t hmm
I would ask you this, did these Pre scientific people know what love was? I will assume your answer is, Yes they did know what love is.
I would ask you, in your opinion are people, in general, more aware of social predictors today or 20 years ago, 30, 40…100 years ago 1000 years ago? I will answer this question in my own opinion, I think in early civilization social cues weren’t heavily relied upon, actually I think it’s more like a balloon, people didn’t have "time", I use this word more as a mental measurement rather than D / V= T. I digress so this balloon wasn’t filled in early civilizations. Social ques such as I’m injured, or afraid and tired were there but things like you didn’t like my gift I gave you last week and I wish you appreciated me more weren’t developed.
As time went on and Technology became more advance things became easier, for example a simple knife would make processing food easier than ripping animals apart or finding a random rock that you could hack at limbs and such. Also it was safer and easier to form large groups of people. 1 person could kill a deer and feed 20 people but that same deer wouldn’t last for 20 days for one person also it would be a dinner bell for predators.
As these groups of people formed the balloon filled up more, with things like Fairness, fun, and being able to choose who to spend you’re time with. when you’re in a pack of 5 people huddled in a cave trying to stay warm and fend off predators you don’t have much of a choice who to like.
Now we’re at a point in our early civilization where you have a role to play; the movie "Year One" is my favorite example of this. Zed is a complete failure at hunting and is sent to pick berries as is Oh also. but in my examples the people are a little more advance, maybe farming and there’s a market lets say. now our balloon is filling quite rapidly and very large just about as big as you can get it.
Little do we know, another take from a great movie "Strange Fiction", Little did we know this is the greatest period for social ques. Kind of like Space before Sputnik, imagine thinking about going to the moon in 1950, I mean imagine being a young adult in college, would the thought " it would be cool to go to the moon" ever cross your mind? NO. little did they know how much would change. back to what I was saying about the Greatest Period For Social Ques or as I like to call it GPFSQ it’s like of like being scared into farting and shushing people at the same time the balloon was filled and you had to interact with people every day and people were able to be social complex because if you didn’t like them there was someone else they could form a click with. But here’s the biggest thing well not the biggest but it was a thing and pretty important the group was small enough to know everyone; you would know when people were born and you would make connections those 2 people were born 10 days apart from one another and they’re socially the same. hmmm you notice all you’re friends were born around the same times. better yet the friends that were born during this time are like this and others like this. hmmm.
as I said Little did we know that like Sputnik, the GPFSQ would open up to a new horizon, the Balloon that seemed to be taking up all this space and was right there had only been in a 2 person tent and now it’s been taken out of that tent and although it’s taking up the same about of space the space in which it’s in is much much larger actually to a point that it’s not even noticeable, before the balloon was always touching you and you had to work around it, now with advancement in technology you’re able to travel not just to a near by community but places that are days away or weeks months of travel time. You find that the main social ques you’re use to like I’m hurt and tired are still easily identifiable but other’s are quite foreign. social ques are no less and less relied upon, walk into a store obviously I’m here to buy things, there’s no longer a need to read someone. as technology has become more and more advance Social communication, has become less and less to now where it’s so robotic we don’t know if were talking to AI or a person.
So all this I would argue just because we know more today scientifically doesn’t mean we know more socially.
Does this mean I believe in Astrology, hmmm no but I think there’s a correlation from when you were born and you’re personality. lets say you were born in November. Dec, Jan, Feb 3-4 months old nothings happening here but holidays very social time. maybe lots of laughter maybe lots of fighting could say it’s a little chaotic. Mar., April, May 6-7 months starting to crawl being more active. June, July, Aug. lots of time outside exploring. as it gets cold out you’re learning to stand and taking a step. than you’re able to walk going here and there around the house, Exploring than as you’re now able to walk ok you’re 1 1/2 it’s may you’re now going outside exploring. lets take a short look at being born in end of May-June you’re not really exploring as it’s warm out you actually kind of hate it than you’re crawling now but gosh is it’s cold so you just relax. as spring comes you’re standing but why you’d rather just sit around playing with the things you can see. so as you can see I think Astrology is more aligned with Nurture rather than Nature. and that is Disproving Astrology in 4 min

    No one:
My friend: "The mischevious moon has entered the fourth house of Saturn in a pensive mood"
Me: We know what that means.. someone’s asshole is getting clobbered tonite

  9. @glenwaldrop8166 on February 27, 2024 at 5:31 pm

Astrology is just another way for people to avoid responsibility for their own actions. That said, if NDT says it isn’t real then I’m going to start looking into it. He’s had a track record of being absolutely wrong of late. He’s part of the propaganda machine.

  10. @Misha0013 on February 27, 2024 at 5:32 pm

such an embarrassment for humanity….that considering how far we came in understanding about universe…there are still so many morons who believe in flat earth, astrology..and unicorns and tooth fairy’s.

  15. @felixl1865 on February 27, 2024 at 5:40 pm

And this piece of work actually call himelf a scientist?

There are literally research about how the moon affect human behavior, there are statistically significant of crime rate increase during full moon and so on and on of example.

Most of the astrology is probably completely garbage, but at the same time saying the star, planet around us won’t affect our behavior is completely bull shit either.

  16. @sashanoel8766 on February 27, 2024 at 5:43 pm

Astrology is far more complex and mathematical than reading a cosmo horoscope and looking at someone’s birth chart as deciding factor of who their mere personality is child’s play. The oversimplification is ridiculous and there is way too much overlap in astrology and quantum physics (as Neil has admitted in the past) for him to make quick assertions like this. He is brilliant but a mere mortal at the end of the day. Doesnt make him right all the time and furthermore astrology isn’t hurting anyone enough to have constant debates about it. Debate Abraham religiosity. People are quite literally being killed over it. That’s a more important topic to get passionate about

  17. @Indigo-Leo on February 27, 2024 at 5:46 pm

Im confused, nothing he said disproved astrology. It only proved he has no idea what astrology is. He cant even discern the difference of newspaper astrology and real astrology. People need to stop letting this man pose as an intellect. He has the gift of gab and a people pleaser, the perfect recipe to trick people. In another life he could have been a cult leader… o wait, thats what he is in this life. Best part is, he is playing out his exact natal chart in the most perfect way.

  18. @todboreham9186 on February 27, 2024 at 5:47 pm

I think that he summed it up with the idea that correlation does not prove causation.

  24. @EveofPyrite on February 27, 2024 at 5:52 pm

Astrology is very real but many of you don’t even understand what real astrology is. All you know about is sun signs. We humans were created and everything about us is unique. Also some of us can literally LOOK at people and know what placements they probably have in their chart . I can’t lie though it’s cute seeing people try to disprove astrology. That’s like trying to disprove the weather. It just is what it is lol it’s nothing to be disproven.

The idea that masses of energy and solar storms wouldn’t effect us is crazy, all life all everything is connected through energy. Then again he believes in LGBTQ so he is nuts

  27. @ict113090 on February 27, 2024 at 5:59 pm

Imagine being so simple minded you actually believe being born in certain parts of the year dictates your behavior.

  28. @founderofself on February 27, 2024 at 6:00 pm

Bet i can tell u more bout u through a birth chart. People r so ignorant sometimes. Its much deeper than that

  29. @georgesandhu1980 on February 27, 2024 at 6:04 pm

Any kind of scientist from government will always sway people to think there is no creator. As long as the people follow government and not the stars society will always be lost. Aint no-one telling me astrology means nothing and there is no creator. I’m self-governed, self-dominion. I think for myself and follow no-one.

  30. @user-sd5bi9uh3f on February 27, 2024 at 6:06 pm

I am beyond confused as to how he "disproved" anything. It was 4 minutes of a smart scientist talking about a field of study he knows very little about in a very unintelligent way. Disappointing.

  31. @electrode6872 on February 27, 2024 at 6:07 pm

When he says they don’t have any effect on us "at all", i think that might be a bit controversial logically because the stars have atleast the smallest of the smallest magnitude of gravitation force associated with us, GMm/d² cannot be zero.

So even though astrology is bs, one shouldn’t say the stars have no associations with us in terms of physics.

  32. @lunalogicmedia on February 27, 2024 at 6:08 pm

ahh…but the crazy part of this is…all these people who hold the notion that astrology isn’t valid…probably also hold some ridiculous religious beliefs when NONE OF THAT is valid either…but, there ya go…

  33. @HyperLexus on February 27, 2024 at 6:08 pm

what i find great about this is that there’s only men and nobody interrupted each other or tried to talk over each other.
this is how a podcast SHOULD be.

  35. @gyelamagneechavez on February 27, 2024 at 6:10 pm

    I don’t believe in horoscope

  36. @evetteleonard5606 on February 27, 2024 at 6:11 pm

Has astrology been revisited since we now know that Earth isnt the center of the universe? Or do astroloigists use the old system?

  37. @AlfonsoSampson-dj5dn on February 27, 2024 at 6:13 pm

You get two kinds of Scientist: The ones who speak nonsense and the ones who know what theyre talking about. Same with Astrologers: On both sides you have the ones who didnt do their research correctly and talk senseless nonsense to others.

Im not a believer in anything and always seek proof. What i noticed in Chinese Astrology was that I actually cannot stand men born in my opposite sign as it says in Chinese astrology than would be my enemy. My friends are either people born in Rabbit, pig and horse years and those are the ones i get along with BEFORE I EVEN KNEW ABOUT CHINESE ASTROLOGY.

So either the book I once grabbed in a bookstore about it was written by ME or its just a MAAAAJOR damn coincidence.

  38. @gerhardwasowski on February 27, 2024 at 6:13 pm

i grew up believing that astrology is true
now that i know that it’s false, it’s still really hard for me to drop that off (and i’m a very pro sceintific thinking)
man, the time of your childhood has such a great affect on you, it’s crazy

  39. @kengit2 on February 27, 2024 at 6:13 pm

He didn’t disprove anything. Based on the title you would have thought he would have gone about the task with a watertight argument instead of straw man fallacies. Even the way this clip started left a lot to be desired, it started by bringing down/demeaning believers in astrology setting the stage for an amateurish take on the subject from both host and guest. This video would make a great case study for logical fallacies because it’s strewn with them.
