  20. Ryan Talbot on November 8, 2021 at 9:34 am

I recently purchased a beaded green malachite bracelet online and I am not 100% convinced that it is real. I noticed a scratch on the surface of one bead and there is a different color of green. The color is also very mat . Thoughts ?

Very good video. Extremely informative. I really enjoy your videos. Great job!!!

  23. CioMaria on November 8, 2021 at 9:39 am

I accidentally made “frosted malachite” by dipping a pendant into some ridiculously harsh silver cleaner and it ruined the finish. I also did that with a pearl pendant that I ruined.

I’m lucky my mom was a forgiving person.

Thank you so much for this informative video. I have a question about resting malachite; I have from what it seems to be real malachite that is that is encased in mexico 925 with a leather strap and also mexican silver hook clasp. I wanted to know ymif you knew about presidium gem tester and where would it register on it? There is no option for malachite but I tried it and it landed on the tanzanite aqua line and when I looked at presidium reflective guidelines they both have similar reflective index.. any advice is appreciated:)

  25. Stacy Turner on November 8, 2021 at 9:43 am

I am in NO WAY a crystal expert, and maybe it’s because I love malachite so much and have seen so many authentic malachite pieces, that most of these stones that you pointed out as fakes, are SO BADLY, BADLY BADLY made, I honestly can’t understand how anybody that has actually seen even ONE real malachite stone, would be deceived by these. THEY’RE AWFUL! I do have one piece that I just bought, a bracelet with a rather large cabochon, that "appears" to be real malachite. Its about 4.3cmx3.0cm, but it’s very thin, about 0.5cm thick. They did a really crappy job setting it inside the bezel with, wait for it, (don’t cringe) VERY yellow epoxy. I know, that’s really bad. But it looks very authentic and the store personnel at the thrift shop had no idea how to tell amethyst from malachite, much less real from fake. You wouldn’t happen to have an email where I could send you a picture of the bracelet, would you? You could even use it as an example of "hopefully" real malachite. LOL

Can’t we tell it id resl or fake by if it jd cold or not all gemstones are cold

  27. disnyqueen55 on November 8, 2021 at 9:45 am

I would of liked to see a comparison in pictures of fake versus real and why now I know to find fake but was not brought real so now I am confused

  28. mizerella on November 8, 2021 at 9:46 am

Don’t buy off Amazon! Seller’s use images of real malachite and send you fake! They had tons of fake positive reviews and when I tried to leave a negative review the review was denied for no reason. Amazon is the worst!

  29. John Zelasko on November 8, 2021 at 9:48 am

Thanks heaps for this video! I was suspicious of the 10 mm "malachite" beaded necklace I bought on Ebay from seller moj81 in 2019. Your specific detailing of the fakes helped solve the mystery, and moj81 sold this a genuine malachite. Shame on the con artists. BTW, I won this in an auction for $12.58 and deeply regret it.

  30. smol peaches on November 8, 2021 at 9:49 am

My wax dipped malachite bracelet was 58 dollars

  31. Diego Fonseca on November 8, 2021 at 9:49 am

Then where can we find and purchase real crystals that have not been treated detrimentally- as in dyed/heat treated/irradiated? I need help if anyone can help me. How much does real malachite bracelets normally cost? Is 20 dollars too cheap? I’m starting to be concerned if the vendor that sold me a few crystal bracelets is legit or not.

  32. Andrea Griffiths on November 8, 2021 at 9:51 am

Thank you. I bought a piece a long time ago in Egypt. For what I was earning at the time, it was very expensive. Recently my brother was adamant it was fake and I was more than a little gutted by the thought. But from this (and a good light on a magnifying lamp) it looks legit to me. There’s like 5 or 6 diff shades of green and the darkest is def dark green and not black. I don’t think it’s a very good piece (made into a very slim obelisk with the spire glued onto the base) but I do think it’s real. I know the ancient Egyptians got malachite and copper from Sinai so maybe that adds credence to it being real.

I watched this video because I’ve never heard of fake malachite and I wanted to see if my listing made the video. Sure enough! I saw my listing at 20:55. Relieved to hear you say it is legit! I had thought so after watching the video but glad to have confirmation!
