Would doing the same thing with a glycol like Iron Out work as well instead of oxalic acid?

  7. Michelle Exley on May 25, 2022 at 7:52 pm

About how much did it cost you to dig all of those? I’m hoping to go in a couple of weeks.

  8. artawhirler on May 25, 2022 at 7:53 pm

This was really interesting, to see how crystals go from their natural condition to the beautiful shiny ones you see on eBay, etc!

I’m so confused reason being, I just read an article that said always use ceramic or plastic. And add water to the acid Idk, Can you clean the crystal and hekimer together? I would think so just asking. And boy would I love to go to the mine just ❤️❤️it.

  17. lisa perry on May 25, 2022 at 8:07 pm

What does it mean out of the pocket? How do you find a pocket when mining?

  18. Terry Shupe on May 25, 2022 at 8:10 pm

  19. Jaime Hernandez on May 25, 2022 at 8:10 pm

  20. V L on May 25, 2022 at 8:11 pm

Do you know how do I completely clean off the negative energy or the crystal?

  21. RL Robbins on May 25, 2022 at 8:11 pm

That was fantastic. Definitely never thought of an acid soak being a thing. Might have to take digging Crystals in baby steps, not sure I’m ready for the acid test. Lol

  22. Gordon York on May 25, 2022 at 8:12 pm

Oaxalic acid is fantastic. Fun vid

My wife and I (both in our 60’s) are from Kentucky and because of your videos we’ll be making our first trip to Ron Coleman’s mine in the summer of 22. Been watching your channel for tips. I do have a couple of questions if you have the time. You "cook" yours on a stovetop outside. Can I do the same thing using my propane grill that has a cover? It has a temperature guage and I can keep it well below boiling. What is the optimal temperature? Next question. Of course we will be initially cleaning them on site at the mine. However, we will be traveling for a couple of weeks AFTER we leave the mine and not be able to do the deep cleaning until we get home. Will that time lapse hurt our chances for a successful deep clean? And my last question. I plan on wrapping our treasures in newspaper while we’re heading out for the rest of our trip. Do we wrap them fully dried or can they be wrapped if they are toweled dry, yet still a little damp? I’ve subscribed a couple of weeks ago and am going through your crystal specific videos and enjoy your enthusiasm and content. BTW we are not selling anything we find but this type of activity has been on my bucket list for about 5 years after my wife and I had a very successful geode hunt here in Kentucky not far from our home. We plan on giving our 16 grandchildren some of the crystals we find.

I was lucky enough to find a large 8 lb quartz crystal here in Colorado Springs. I cleaned all the dirt off with warm water and soaked it in Iron Out for 5 days. All the iron oxide is removed but there is a rough, dull greenish mineral on the windows, they aren’t smooth. Anyone have any ideas as to what this is and how I can remove it? Thanks!

How do I clean a raw aragonite cluster??

  30. William Burrows on May 25, 2022 at 8:19 pm

Amazing how good the crystals came out! Have you tried using the acid to clean up agates or other rocks?

  31. Michelle Exley on May 25, 2022 at 8:23 pm

Always wear gloves? LOL!!!! I’m surprised you have hands left. So you don’t have to neutralize them with baking soda?
