Magic Rocks!? A Journey into Fluorescent Crystals, Gems & Minerals with The Crystal Collector

Magic Rocks!? A Journey into Fluorescent Crystals, Gems & Minerals with The Crystal Collector

Are these rocks magic or what!? Actually, they have whats called a fluorescence. This occurs when a UV light it directed towards certain minerals, it causes them to glow! Sometimes more rarely, they can even show phosphorescence, this is after the UV light is turned off, the piece will still show a fading glow. Join as The Crystal Collector shows off a few super bright minerals.

Some parts of the matrix from Topaz Mtn Adventures phosphorylate too under shortwave UV. I love my light from Bill at Way Too Cool. I have no affiliation just love walking around my place with his shortwave UV light and discovering all of not only minerals but plants react to shortwave UV light. Wild. Check your Topaz Mtn Adventures haul and hit some with the shortwave and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Though you probably don’t want to expose too much of that Sherri topaz to UV some other mineral in the matrix from their has wild uv properties.

I would like to make a small terrarium to use as a night light using the calcite clams I dug in Florida. Can you tell me the best UV light to use?

Created from the very heart of the cave
The greedy warlock has the cosmic gemstone to travel across the multiverse to take the dark divinity gauntlet from the bog king from the dark parallel universe.
But that monster has followed has followed on of the warlocks who had used the multiverse gemstone to escape from the anti world so he can track them down and kill him.
But it was too late for the greedy warlock has tossed the dark divinity gauntlet into the rift in death at the hands of the bog king.
Until he had manage to pick it up and find it and bring the dark divinity gauntlet back to the anti universe were it belongs with him.

Hii. Do anyone has any tips when buying UV-flashlights or lamps. For hunting for minerals?

  12. Sean on July 19, 2021 at 2:16 am

Hey there, thanks for sharing! Going to do this in the beaches where I live and when I’m gold prospecting, not for gold of course just the cool rocks along the way. What wavelength are the lights you’re using? I was thinking of picking up a 365nm, is that better than 395? Thank you very much

  13. Sultan Mirza on July 19, 2021 at 2:17 am

  14. Lori Mangold on July 19, 2021 at 2:17 am

  15. Viktor Kittilson on July 19, 2021 at 2:21 am

    I love crystals!

Amazing—I just got my hyalite opal today, that’s only three days, I’m totally impressed with the service, Brian! And the little bonus was nothing to sneeze at either, I might say–it’s now proudly displayed on my "amazing minerals" shelf. The glowing crystals are for my Mom’s birthday, and they’re perfect little crystals, I know she’s going to love it. This is my first order from Ultrarocks, and I’d definitely recommend it based on the fast service, the carefulness in packing the delicate crystal, and thoughtfulness of including a little "thank you!". Big thumbs-up! And hugs to Matrix from all of us!

  17. Roberto Garza on July 19, 2021 at 2:28 am

What is the UV light you used in the video? (Not the flashlight)

  18. Lori Mangold on July 19, 2021 at 2:29 am

    Are they radioactive?

  19. Mick Carson on July 19, 2021 at 2:29 am

What type of black light do you use? I don’t like fake UV LED light. It’s not true black light as it has a filter glass that chances to purple light, an imitation to true black light fluorescent tubes. With fluorescent black light tubes, the light is invisible, rhe glow is hardly seen but these are still used in disco, dances and parties when all sorts of reflective paing and colors are seen, including your white teeth, but with LED UV torch the light beam is visible as in pinkish beam, hence false black light.

Great examples of fluorescent minerals! I live in an area of the desert in California where rare fluorescent minerals are abundant. Tufa and Hanksite (a salt mineral) are both highly reactive to UV light.
