5 Intense Cannabis Strains With Wildly Unique Effects

5 Intense Cannabis Strains With Wildly Unique Effects

When it comes to cannabis strains with unique effects, there’s a lot more to consider than just THC and CBD content.

In fact, more and more experts are starting to think it might be the terpenes in cannabis that are responsible for the variation in psychoactive effects we feel when we’re high.

In this quick video rundown, we identify five intense cannabis strains that provide users with potent, wildly unique cerebral effects.

I first had blue Hawaiian in the mid 90s I swear to god it was so potent
it made me throw up it was the best time of my life as a teenager
watching Beavis n Butthead smoking blue Hawaiian my friends uncle gave
it to me for the first time I had the trip of my life I will never
forget that’s why I came across this video searching for the infamous

Lambs Breath, Acopocogold, cat piss, purple Erkle, AK-47, and green crack are by far the best.

Omg, wooooooow! Guess this is for basics ONLY? Or maybe people who smoked for the first time earlier today (and were never interested enough beforehand to have ever asked or read anything about it…)?

Not a single effect mentioned was "unique" to the corresponding strain — far from it, in fact! Hence why strain database sites like Leafly literally have scales for *each of these effects*, reported (based on user submissions) for *essentially every single strain*. The effects ARE present in the strains mentioned, and arguably the most prominent among their effect profile — so they didn’t completely lie — however, in every case they are by no means the only strain that can produce the effect in question. So the premise and obviously the title are pure clickbait to prey on the ignorant… cool

And of course, as everybody who didn’t get into cannabis culture just last week likely knows, Pineapple Express was *100% completely fictional*, a gag invented for the movie of the same name by Rogen, Franco, and McBride because — let’s face it — it’s a very stereotypical sounding strain name, and it was a clever little turn of witty observational humor based on the rapidly blossoming dispensary culture at the time. The fact that it’s so believable that most viewers probably never even thought to question its authenticity — while many were so convinced, they kept frantically hitting up their dealers and Google and finding out all they could, determined to get their hands on the elusive bounty — is what makes it such a solid joke! (Enough so that it was worth naming the movie after.)
THEN, a good few years *after* the movie’s release and subsequent popularization, its main gags having become recognizable touchstones throughout the zeitgeist, some enterprising breeder/grower — checking his new creation, and convinced that the concoction could, of course, convey the killer combination of qualities characteristically credited to the cheeky comedy’s crucially chronic kush — basically decided to use (read: co-opt/appropriate) the same name immortalized by the movie, because he was of the opinion that he had just grown cannabis so good, it was literally written to be described as an impossibility…that was kind of the point (to invent a name, and describe it in such intense and wide-reaching terms, that NO real strain could conceivably live up)! I’ve never actually tried it myself but, I have lots of experience generally, and I would def take any claims about PE with a hefty grain of salt (especially if you’ve seen the movie, and that forms the basis for at least some of your expectations). I’m guessing in all probability the naming had A LOT more to do with business strategy (gotta hand it to em, it’s a genius marketing move after all! The legwork is already done for them but they can’t get sued by anybody for profiting from it…) and probably with flavor, than anything at all really to do with the strain being similar in its objective effects to the fictional strain in the movie.

So yeah, great job @WayOfLeaf! That is, if your goal was to misinform people who don’t know better, and aggravate those of us who do…
Please either step up your research and fact-checking by a factor of ~10 or seriously STOP uploading — if you actually care, as you purport, about helping people and not being a hindrance to education, informed and safe use, and eventual decriminalization and legalization universally.

Chem strains are not giggly. They’re body buzz.

Also descended from Chem and Dogbud, not Thai or Nepali.

  6. Alan womack on May 25, 2022 at 7:35 pm

This is such bullshit. You know nothing about weed… do you spout all this bullshit for views? Pathetic

  7. Gerrit Fridericksohn on May 25, 2022 at 7:36 pm

  10. Van Niyo on May 25, 2022 at 7:39 pm

The best clear high I ever had was from Jack herer, but pineapple express was very clear as well and a bit more potent. Both were really good but the jack was slightly clearer and better effects.

  11. Matt Smokes on May 25, 2022 at 7:40 pm

Check out Glueball boys. Been smoking for almost 10 years daily, very few strains stick out to me these days and this one is probably the best.

  12. no one on May 25, 2022 at 7:43 pm

"…experts are starting to think it might be the terpenes…" Duh!. It’s the terpines, especially myrcene for couch-lock and terpinoline/pinene/limonine for stimulation.

  13. Francis Begbie on May 25, 2022 at 7:45 pm

Apart from chem dog all them strains contain skunk 1 , the best weed ever is old landrace Thai haze trippin grass ,no hybrid comes anywhere near that gear
Any old pure sativas would rip your face off ,hysterical laughter an racy energetic effect ,luckily I still have a beautiful tangerine sativa haze I grow every year , hybrids are lame compared

  14. J Mill on May 25, 2022 at 7:46 pm

Pretty basic but decent list. Having worked in the cannabis industry I’d say for pain but especially insomnia-skywalker og. Another underrated/unknown strain is skunk ape, lv purple kush x gg4. In my mind the genetics are far more important than thc content. Anything with blueberry or cookies in it is a winner.

  26. ReelX4U on May 25, 2022 at 8:03 pm

Call Me Old Fashioned, but I got some real strong effects from a strain called “Californian Lime Green Sinsemilla”. I remember like it was yesterday, my high school friend from Japan walked up to me one day and he had these pin rolled joints and he said here smoke one but be careful it is really strong, I looked at the pin joint and said to myself, “I smoke this and I will catch a good buzz, I mean that there was more rolling paper then there was weed in the pin rolled joint, what else would I think and I am talking back in the mid 1980(s). Man I was wrong, I couldn’t even finish the joint, I was only able to smoke half of it and I remember looking up in the sky and seeing a helicopter and to me it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. And it produced a hilarity that once you started these deep belly laughs, it was hard to stop. Me and friend skip out of high school for the rest of the day and we went mushroom hunting, well that didn’t work out, but non the less, I stayed high for a good part of the day and it is a high that I never forgot. Sinsemilla Rules!!!!

Laughing Buddha from barney’s farm sativa cross. It’s the best against stress, anxiety and a lot more.

  31. Nemo McLovin on May 25, 2022 at 8:07 pm

Never seen anyone actually analyze pure landraces in this way.

This is just a commercial for a bunch of modern hybrids.

Inferior strains, mostly pretty similar to each other.

  32. Karina Yoga on May 25, 2022 at 8:07 pm

im the 1000th thumbs up and 107th comment…wow…great content here as usual <3

Pineapple Express? Dude says he gave it away it’s not any good. Other video I watched

  38. Shafin Rahman on May 25, 2022 at 8:15 pm

    White Russian OG.

  39. Dan Wilkinson on May 25, 2022 at 8:17 pm

The name can be misleading as there are more fake versions of these strains or improperly grown versions. Cannabis that actually represents what the original strains are not always available. The actual THC levels are generally lower than listed and the effects very different from what is advertised. This can be due in part to the set and setting s well.

The strain Pineapple Express was named after the movie, not the other way around. Jeez…
