This was the best surprise ever.
I did not expect this huge rough opal to turn into a gem. To be honest, I thought it was going to be riddled with sand and end up being a few decent crystals.
As I ground more of the opal away, I realised that it was not riddled with sand as I thought. It was actually a massive gem. Enjoy the process!

Wow, somehow stumbled upon a video of yours, instantly became fascinated and could not stop watching! I had no idea how beautiful Opal was or how much I would enjoy watching you cut, polish and talk about it. Of all the videos I’ve watched so far though, this stone really speaks to me. It reminds me of a beautiful ocean reef where life is peaceful and flourishing, I paused it and starred in amazement for a good 2 or 3 minutes when you showed the final gem! Absolutely stunning, good call I think to leave it whole! Thanks so much for sharing your amazing work and wealth of knowledge with us!

Another banger of a great video. But why didn’t you cut this up and do five or six smaller stones for more value? What did the stone end up going into?
All of a sudden the weel sucks the stone under ,it goes underneath the weel disappearing , the stone being crushed and dasinagrated into dust." Oh no my Lord haaaaa,!"

Personally I find domed surfaces to be overrated. I believe there is room for a more natural/organic look. Some edgy patterns would also be nice.
4:02 , if you put a chain on it at this point, I would think it to be the most precious stone!
I had to smile a little bit, because before you started I saw, that this stone has best chances to become a big deal and you cant’t tell me that you as a specialist didn’t have seen this 😉 Such beautiful colours on the ground, over it an not to small size and over this the sand. I like you seeing work with opals very much. Would like to become your assistant 😉 I studied geographie and as part of this geological knowledge was been given. Wish you a very successful year and if you sometimes don’t know wich stone to cut first give me a message for a little play.

I’m surprised it’s only priced at 6k. I guess with the sand spots. But then I wonder why not to chop it up into Several smaller stones of all sizes and shapes with no sand since the color is so good and bright l?
