Why Are There 96,000,000 Red Gems on This Beach? – Again?

Why Are There 96,000,000 Red Gems on This Beach? – Again?

In search of more red gemstones, I searched this river beach full of gemstones looking for the perfect gem quality garnet. What I found was mind blowing. Millions upon millions of red garnets. I collect these garnets to sell to collectors. In this video I explain why people would want these garnets, how I collect the garnets, and show off not only the amazing garnets, but also the amazing views, and find some garnets still in the host rock as well.

Is there any gold in there?

  26. @BlitheApathy on January 18, 2024 at 5:59 pm

I wish I could go prospecting again with my uncle. I’m a good swimmer so I can find some good hidden nuggets in the river. While my unkle would sit in shade an pan the sand while I swim round and explored like an otter. Loads of fun.

But last time we went out we got robbed at gunpoint. Some guy took *everything* we found over our weekend camp out.

He took *everything* of any worth, threw our phones into the river and slashed our tires on his way out. Kinda killed the wonder for us.

  27. @Deskisasurvivor21 on January 18, 2024 at 6:00 pm

    i saw yellow garnets

  28. @kirktingblad6667 on January 18, 2024 at 6:02 pm

This looks so fun! Your enthusiasm really makes your videos entertaining. I remember when I was little in the late 1960’s my family went on vacation in Colorado. We went up to Central City and learned about the silver and gold mines and saw a demonstration of panning. So your videos drip nostalgia for me. While my disability prevents me from going on prospecting adventures, it is great fun watching you, and learning new things as you are prospecting.

  35. @copperweaver13 on January 18, 2024 at 6:13 pm

Love this video! When I lived on the shore of Lake Erie, in NE Ohio, I would would often see bands of red garnet and black magnetite sand on the beach. A mixture of water worn sand grains in shades of pink, red and sometimes a green grain. The magnetite was also water worn but sometimes had sharper edges.

Garnets are super hard and dense, so they are often used for sandpaper.

    Can I?
