WHAT kind of any ending was that? What a waste of my time watching this…no good plot/point.
The movie was well acted and filmed, but slow throughout, and the ending sucked.

The title of the movie is "The Healer". A healer is not only a person who heals people from cancer and have them live longer in the physical life. This person has healed this whole family and restored their love and forgiveness to each other.
Wonderful movie, but I also felt it’s left unfinished.
I decided to check the comments about 30 minutes into this movie. Thank you to all the commentators below that shared their thoughts about the ending. You spared me about 90 minutes of my life.
I’ve read cliffhanger books, but i don’t recall watching a cliffhanger movie. So many unanswered questions. What the heck???

The husband defiled the marriage & bed turning his wife into an adulterer, now bringing another man’s baby into the world under a curse is NUTS! The acting in this is superb!
For some broken vows…saying you’re sorry will never be enough. He had a woman who loved him so much, she took the kids for a ski trip, he likely excused himself by claiming he had to work, and then he does another woman in their home, and in their bed. Inexcusable.
The ending is real. Not the fairytale. I liked it.
Alexi saw a young fertile woman, knew she had already given birth…there was the proof, she could bear children. (That’s how some mates are picked in Africa). He picked her out of a crowd. Everyone else was old and lame. Yes he prob passed on his gift. We shall never know.
The intense magic she had with Alexi I experienced with a boyfriend years ago, a very intense power you just can’t resist. I wouldve followed him to the earth’s end, but he cheated on me and lied. So I left him, then he proposed after all of that. But I was done. I never had that magic again, not even with my husband of 20 years. Actually not much with him at all, a few jokes, but no deep connection.
So he lost his gift and I think it’s old legend that one that has a special gift (fortune telling, healer etc) cannot accept money for it to work and has to stay a virgin, if lose virginity the gift is gone. As in that Bond Movie, Live and Let Die, the Fortune teller slept with Bond (cause he was so great…lol)…and then her ability to tell fortunes through cards was gone. It’s an old but good movie. The fortune teller was kept on an island and heavily guarded, as she was “special”.
This movie had a lot of funny and sweet scenes and great acting. The woman who came from Poland, hilarious. The dad funny too. Great portrayal of Polish religious people lining up for “healing” and the general chaos afterwards among them. It looked very real, like at an end of a party. These kinda things with masses arriving for “chance of a miracle” happened in the past, more often.

I also was disappointed in the ending, did the boy recover, did the dad get better, did she stay with cheating husband…he had lost his luster. She was right to have left him in the first place. Once a cheater, always a cheater and liar.
What a stinking movie.
It is one of those Artsy movies with an impossible premise. It concludes that the act of SEX destroys purity, especially the kind of purity needed to be a faith healer in the real world. What else would you expect from such an absurd premise other than an ending that disappoints everybody.

By choosing love, Alexei has lost his gift. Julie is pregnant (from Alexei) and she and her husband reunite, both resigned about the tragic fate of their son and trying to make the best out of the situation for their daughter’s sake. In the twins’ magical world, death is certainly not the end, we find out in the last scene."

I love how everyone wants to tell the ending in the comments. Thanks. I should obviously not have read the comments, but the top five comments were all about the ending, something I have not seen before. Ruined it for me. I will look for another movie.

His gift was described as "pouring out life". Then he created life with the pregnancy and the gift was gone. Fantastic film. Such emotion from the whole cast.
Has anyone else commented this? If the boys cancer came back does that mean everyone he had healed over his lifetime woke to their past diseases? Such a sad and troubling thought! I really liked the movie until the end.
In the comments I read, those who speak of infidelity specifically, their non-married bed was already broken and not reconsummated. She did not "cheat" but, sadly, the healer did lose his "purity". Ugh. Yeah, the ending was anything but happy.
Nothing can be hidden from God he knows all things I do believe in miracles but it only comes from the and sometimes people fail and fall but with God he never fail if you believe and I am a miracle for I was dead in sin and He found me praises to his son Jesus Bristol
And the wife gets pregnant and hubby is ok with that and they live happily ever after ?
