SoCal homeowner opens fire on burglars, killing 1, wounding another

A Grand Terrace man shot two men who broke into his home Tuesday night, one of whom later was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The break-in was reported just after 9:15 p.m., when the resident, whose identity has not been released, told officers that multiple people broke into his home, prompting him to grab his gun, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.

KTLA’s Shelby Nelson reports on March 7, 2025.

Oh my God I hope the homeowner in his house or her house is okay and there’s not too much blood to be cleaned up… You get blood all over the concrete and it stains

  2. @Nonyabusiness911 on March 8, 2025 at 6:47 pm

It’s California, the homeowner will go to jail and get sued

  3. @RLB2779 on March 8, 2025 at 6:52 pm

I feel sorry for the homeowner he’ll probably go to prison the rest of his life. Then the family will end up suing the homeowner and end up with his house.

With Trump in charge the home owner if prosecuted by the left, will get a good reception at the Federal Court level.

  7. @bdg77 on March 8, 2025 at 6:56 pm

So the homeowner victim will go to prison, right? Cause its California, right?

  8. @richardalex4516 on March 8, 2025 at 7:00 pm

Don’t intrude into someone else’s home. If you come into my house, you better have an invitation or a deep dish pizza.

WOW!!! Interesting turn of events!!! Change of Thought, patterns!!! Those Dems in California are supposedly ANTI-GUN!!! But now they are wielding guns, and firing them on would-be burglars & looters in California!!! Now, THEY JUST LOVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!! It’s "okay" when it suits your purpose,….but when it does not, ….you are against it!!! MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MINDS!!!!!!

Tape Job Applications on your homes, keeps them away .

It doesn’t matter if it’s a CCW or not, he’s in his home.

IDEA: parents teach your children NOT to go onto people’s property without an invitation.

So not as "woke" as we have been lead to believe. One less trial, need one less lawyer.

  22. @roybatty6328 on March 8, 2025 at 7:22 pm

A state too weak to protect it’s citizens from juvenile criminals. If it was Los Angeles they would be arresting the home owner.

  23. @KC50036 on March 8, 2025 at 7:23 pm

I hope the home owner doesn’t get charged. CA made Law-Abiding citizens, Home owners criminals for defending themselves and their families.

  24. @MrTintinluong on March 8, 2025 at 7:24 pm

    Oh well

  26. @ryangreen1141 on March 8, 2025 at 7:27 pm

Where is the picture of the burglars? I guess we can assume.

  27. @ElLoktenson on March 8, 2025 at 7:28 pm

I wonder how he was able to conceal an antique musket, seeing as how that’s the only gun you can prbly defend yourself with in California.

  28. @akinumber1 on March 8, 2025 at 7:29 pm

    Deshawn Lamar…

  29. @SewAndTellwithDori on March 8, 2025 at 7:30 pm

How much do you want to bet that the deceased offender’s family will be screaming for justice against the homeowner?!?!?

  30. @navyhmc8302 on March 8, 2025 at 7:31 pm

Why did it have to be concealed? The homeowner was in his home. Given California’s obvious favoritism to criminals of all types, I’m surprised that homeowner wasn’t arrested for homicide and the criminals (victims?) were released with counselling.

  31. @LJSJIUJITSU on March 8, 2025 at 7:32 pm

Sadly due to the idiotic policies of this state the innocent will be charged and somehow either do time or face a massive civil suit.

  32. @josephvaldez936 on March 8, 2025 at 7:33 pm

And of course the democrats want to change the law so you have to retreat

  33. @Twilisfriend on March 8, 2025 at 7:35 pm

30+ million illegal border crossers don’t forget!

  34. @billy1673 on March 8, 2025 at 7:35 pm

    The usual suspects.
Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing.

  35. @beanutbutterbaus on March 8, 2025 at 7:37 pm

Oh no Newsome won’t stand for that, homeowner!

  36. @Spitfire45 on March 8, 2025 at 7:39 pm

Why is the issue of the victim defending himself with a Concealed Carry firearm brought up? He has every right to defend himself whether it’s a concealed carry firearm or not. It’s in his own household. Typical leftist news outlet.

  37. @zAlaska on March 8, 2025 at 7:39 pm

Mentoring a 15-year-old into a lifetime of crime, the spider web of the relationships includes trafficking of a minor, seemingly to me more serious than the burglary and murder charges they face as they are punished for the death of one of their own as if they had pulled the trigger by their own hand. Good luck rehabilitating the lost kid and correcting his mind with the truth of his eyes. One of the thousands with few resources that can intervene, change comes from the heart, if not good guidance.
To be caught in their own trap.

  38. @fozybear64 on March 8, 2025 at 7:41 pm

And the homeowner will go to jail

  39. @Freebeertomorrow-q3z on March 8, 2025 at 7:41 pm

Many cities have become such a problem that literally one adult needs to be awake all night to protect their home. It’s a horrible Joke.

  40. @timothynelson6918 on March 8, 2025 at 7:43 pm

Please tell me the DA is not going to charge. And any wrongful death lawsuit from the family is dismissed.

  41. @billy1673 on March 8, 2025 at 7:44 pm

And now I’ll bet the homeowner is being charged with murder.
