Selenite Crystals at the Great salt Lake
Selenite Crystals at the Great salt Lake
Hey all Just made it home from a Whirl Wind trip in Utah and Arizona
This is from my first day on the road where I went to Rozel point at the Great Salt Lake of Utah its a free digging area and very much worth going to it.
Google Rozel point on your computer to see where it is at and I do highly recommend if you have the opportunity go out there and check it out … Just wear old clothing and gloves …. sunglasses are nice to the light reflects like crazy out there.

Have you considered partnering with Haunted Ridge and doing personal guide tours, something along those lines? Do a ‘digging’ tour and help ppl learn — build your cost into price of admittance at HR – prebook those days! Or other places as well. $20.00 for an afternoon meetup at Chain of Rocks or wherever. BYOBucket, digging tools, other tools… just a thought.
I am certainly looking forward to going out West to search for rocks, minerals & fossils!
I really enjoyed this video from start to finish. It was super cool to see the Salt Lake from your point of view. I’m looking forward to more!
Just missed you, we just got home saturday night. They are uv reactive. And we filled in several holes.
Selenite is awesome
What a fun mess. Was there public showers nearby? You found some big guys there. Very cool.
Very cool, great experience, good video, had fun. Definitely agree with filling your holes back in, have respect for others and this beautiful earth! This is like rhat movie called "holes" crazy! Thanks for sharing your hard work and passion!
So what do you do with them? Are they hard enough to shape and polish?
Awesome crystal finds Jeff! gotta make it out there some time.
Is selenite related to desert rose crystals? I remember finding a few of those as a kid around the Great Salt Lake and Bonniville Salt Flats.
How fun! I’m a collector and lover of minerals and selenite was my first favorite. It never gets old. So many different kinds, and I kinda love how fragile it can be. I’ve had to put my collecting on hold because I’m moving and since I’m so terribly weak I won’t let myself get on Facebook since all the people I used to buy from are on there. So I’m glad I came across this video.
