Sapphire,crazed tourmalinel,phenacite ETC. crystals

I inherited most of these from both my Grandfathers. Edgar Miller, my paternal grandpa, was a gemologist and master gem cutter and silver/goldsmith. he won an award for cutting a exact replica of the hope diamond out of gem glass. it was in a museum but was stolen. my maternal grandpa was a war veteran in the 2nd WW. after the war he gave away his guns and took up horticulture and he had been a rockhound since he was a child and so most of his life after witnessing the horrors of war he spent his time in peace among a beautiful the beautiful forest of Japanese Maple trees he propagated and he had an entire bedroom full of every gemstone or mineral specimen on earth just about. he won many awards and practically ran the local rock club. his cabochons won him the 1968 cabochon contest. ok a terminated white water clear sapphire crystal, a partially terminated bi-color sapphire is light blue and a dark pinkish tip, terminated green chrome tourmaline (the light shows how dichroic it is,) some river worn yellow and light blue sapphires, awesome color change garnet, large clear Phenacite terminated, yellow apatite, star sapphire, etc. BTW just so watchers know, most of my phenacite crystals have repaired or cut terminations. my grandfather would take nice crystals with imperfect termination points and cut new facets on the top of the crystal to emulate a natural termination. it made it hard to identify most of my fine gem specimen crystals because the terminations look VERY natural but ive come to find that its easy for a cutter to facet a termination
