OPALUS – original Opal inspired Resin Painting technique by Crystal Ma

Boulder Opals have always inspired me. The beautiful flashes of colors resinates in me.

Here, I am sharing with you the making of OPALUS, inspired but the magical qualities of Boulder Opals. (note: this is a painting demo and not a tutorial. I’ll try my best to answer your questions if you have any regarding the process.)

OPALUS was created with multiple layers of resin, cellophane paper and resin pigments and micas on a 24″ round table top. The finished product was 21 pounds.
