Everything I see and hear about this film just confirms what I’ve said since 2014: Sony has no idea what they’re doing and needs to stop trying to make the Sinister Six movie a thing.

I’m such a Morbius fanboy, and I didn’t see the movie yet. But after all the negative reviews, still going to watch, but it makes me sad cause I freaking love this character plus Venom and Sandman. I had so high hopes for this movie. Is it watchable at least, or no?

  3. Scott Stegbauer on April 13, 2022 at 5:55 pm

What happened? It’s a Morbius movie, that’s what happened. No one ever gave a shit about Morbius back then and certainly not now. Why would you make a movie about a comics code write around?

  4. Tom Tudor Weaver on April 13, 2022 at 5:55 pm

Whilst the whole ‘Spider-Man cinematic universe made up of villain films without Spider-Man’ is an inherently flawed idea that I don’t think anyone finds appealing, what makes these films worse is that it’s not impossible to make it work.

Most of Spider-Man’s villains have origins that don’t require Spider-Man to be involved in them, Venom ironically being the only major exception so whilst he’s a big name, kicking off this universe with a far from ideal adaptation already throws off a lot of fans. I don’t care about Morbius at all, the comic character or the film, but it shouldn’t be hard to tell the classic scientist turns himself into a monster story, just look at The Fly.

To me Sony really needs to take a leaf out of WB’s book with their recent approach to comic book films. Say what you will but WB has focused on films that feel very director driven, with each fitting into their own unique genres that give them so much personality, rather than adhering to the typical superhero storytelling tropes.

That’s all the more important when making villain films too, tell stories about villains, people who’s arcs don’t adhere to the usual superhero tropes, we don’t have enough comic book films that do that and the anti-hero thing is just boring at this point.

Morbius is the moviest movie I’ve ever witnessed. My little brain can’t comprehend how movie it is

  6. Jacob Holly on April 13, 2022 at 5:57 pm

One stupid thing they did with vulture is that since he’s in morbius world does he no longer exist in Tom Holland Spiderman.

I beg jared leto to redeem himself and play joker for zack snyder

the funniest part about this movie is that the audience rotten tomatoes score is 70.

  9. BrokenBiscuit on April 13, 2022 at 6:01 pm

When I first saw the trailer, I thought "Wait, you can’t make a Morbius movie without spiderman! That’s his whole essence thing!", then I remembered that was Morlun, not Morbius.

  10. Hilmar Nicolay on April 13, 2022 at 6:04 pm

Yeah, I kinda went cause I thought Michael Keaton was gonna be in it at least a little bit. But, terrible movie. I do think it could have been a good movie if it was made my literally any other studio. I think a sequel would be a lot better.

  11. ie2 adm on April 13, 2022 at 6:07 pm

It starts with an advertisement. So this YT guy is driven by greed, not by passion. Red thumb.

  12. Kimberly H. on April 13, 2022 at 6:08 pm

Damn, the last time I’ve seen everyone this united against something was Season 8 GOT’s.

  14. Rock Universe on April 13, 2022 at 6:10 pm

90s spider-man show is the only reason i wanted to see this movie but since its sony of course they would mess it up.

I’ve been watching your videos for years but the "loads of free gifts and prizes" mentioned at the end of each and every video never materialize.

    PS Love your stuff sir.

It’s really seems to me that a lot of movies this days aren’t even made to be good movies, they’re just made to make a quick buck. I guess it’s not anything new but it was really noticeable here with how little shit nobody in the making of this movie seemed to give on it. All the dropped storylines, the mid cgi that looks like resident evil 2, the very boring and generic antagonist, the very boring and generic protagonist and the rushed love story. It’s like a film junk food. The only good things I can think about is Mat Smith’s performance of a very badly written generic villian and the cool smoke effect they had. Genuinely it’s almost as bad as suicide squad which is not something I say often.

  20. GhostySweep on April 13, 2022 at 6:16 pm

Out of every movie made this year, this is definitely one of them…

  21. EnigmaOfTheEchidna on April 13, 2022 at 6:17 pm

Not just Michael Keaton fans, I’d say Spiderman fans in general.

  22. rice on April 13, 2022 at 6:17 pm

this movie deserves some credit actually, its the highest grossing morbius movie of all time

  23. Jawunleashed on April 13, 2022 at 6:18 pm

    *NOT HARSH ENOUGH*

  24. Opinionated Movies on April 13, 2022 at 6:19 pm

I think Matt Smith should have been playing a multiverse variant of the Lizard.
A Vampire vs. A dinosaur dude would have been a way more fun version of the final fight

  25. Alexander Brain on April 13, 2022 at 6:19 pm

I can’t believe Morbius is the first movie to sell a morbillion tickets

  26. ThatBurninGecko on April 13, 2022 at 6:20 pm

    Concept: Movie

  27. AJV Films on April 13, 2022 at 6:22 pm

Honestly why do they keep making Spider-Man villains as anti heroes? I know Venom was a anti hero so I get it. So yeah I wasn’t looking forward to this movie and glad I didn’t waste my time and money watching it.

  28. Justa Stranger on April 13, 2022 at 6:23 pm

Hopefully this will be the end of the Jared Leto hype. He’s a pompous pseudo-method twat that sucks.

  29. Raphael Adôrno on April 13, 2022 at 6:24 pm

I think there was some really conflituous negotiation of the Spider-Man film rights after Far From Home. In the MCU, they have Sam Raimi and crew making not Spider-Man projects while also bringing a whole bunch of old cast to the next Spider-Man movie. And in the SCU, they have only the usual Sony solo projects like Venom and Morbius, so out of 3 options, one would have to be chosen:
    1. MCU takes SCU fully into them and both Marvel and Sony co-working with these characters, which would be a no-no for Feige ‘cuz he hates working with Pascal and Arad.
    2. MCU and SCU start a partnership where they start sharing a few characters between them, which would be easier for MCU to have Spider-Man characters such as Venom.
    3. MCU and SCU made a one-and-done crossover where they traded a character for another, which would basically help MCU get all of these Spider-Man related characters to appear in the future while SCU gets to use these characters MCU made.
Which one of these happened? Only Feige and Pascal would know. But it’s more than likely that, after No Way Home, this crossover between MCU and SCU has only gotten started. We might see a LOT more of this multi-sharing crossover in the next Spider-Man related movies.

This movie is so freaking, it’s out of 10

  32. Rob On The Cob on April 13, 2022 at 6:25 pm

8:51 "It makes Ben Affleck’s Daredevil look like Spider-Man 2 in comparison"? Well it’s not good, but um, no it absolutely doesn’t. Morbius was notably better than Daredevil 2003 imo, probably by virtue of its somewhat decent villain. Milo was a better villain than some of the bottom of the barrel MCU villains, easily.

  33. Surfer Silver on April 13, 2022 at 6:25 pm

So you’re saying the movie is…. Anemic?

  34. Mike on April 13, 2022 at 6:27 pm

Comic book movies are like the westerns of the 60s they are popular rn but they will run their course and no one will care eventually

  35. Von Brewskie on April 13, 2022 at 6:28 pm

Can we spoil Morbius? (Jack Frost star pffffffft nice.)

    End of story.

  38. CleanerBen on April 13, 2022 at 6:30 pm

I’ve never seen a movie like this. Incredible.

  39. Masterseal0418 on April 13, 2022 at 6:30 pm

{Sarcastically} I’ll admit, the fries scene is legendary and cured Marvel fans’ depression in the process!

But Morbius should’ve been good if production wasn’t stuck in Development Hell. In fact, the Venom films in addition to this would be so much better if they were MCU films, as well as being R-rated so the kills will be more graphic and even creative(if that’ll ever happen). I don’t see that here, and I’m glad Morbius became a joke among cinema nerds and Marvel fans alike; because it deserved to have the memes to be in a higher quality compared to this movie. In fact, Jared Leto casted as Morbius is as corny as Nicholas Cage casted as Ghost Rider! Mediocrity can be bliss if you ham up a "serious supernatural action-horror superhero film" quite purposely.

  40. Hamburgler Helper on April 13, 2022 at 6:31 pm

Jared Leto looks like the antifa dude in a crowd of people who would hit you in the head with a bike lock and then force a vegan diet on you while you recover in the hospital. So in that way, the casting was perfect!

  41. YukiED on April 13, 2022 at 6:34 pm

Jared Leto has a curse… studios should just stay away from him. he sucks

  42. Ben spooner on April 13, 2022 at 6:34 pm

This and venom let there be carnage were both 1 hour 30 mins…. Coincidence I THINK NOT. I recon Sony higher ups went “ohhh cut all this stuff and make it 1:30” cause for some reason they like the movie to be really short

  43. Shandhi on April 13, 2022 at 6:36 pm

    Morbius is the film ever

  44. Mr. Nobody on April 13, 2022 at 6:37 pm

The problem to me is the lack of Sony doing Rated R

Venom and Venom 2 are prime examples 9f characters that can work as hard-core rated r action.
Then you get a characters KNOWN for blood and disturbing imagery and slap a PG 13 on it FFS.

Sony has been playing the "Bad Guy fights Bad Guy with exact same powers" its getting obvious they have no plan. They desperately want a Spider-Man to fight there growing villain movies but unless they bring back Andrew or do someone else they’re stuck with the same premise forever.

  45. Degenerate god on April 13, 2022 at 6:38 pm

Honestly this movie is the definition of wasted potential

  46. ConsistentlyStupid on April 13, 2022 at 6:40 pm

"Michael Keaton the beloved Batman and Jack Frost Star". I think you mean beloved Multiplicity star.

  47. Luis Garza on April 13, 2022 at 6:41 pm

After hearing how bad this film is I’m still shocked Sony is going through with kraven. Lmao, I bet they learned nothing and there’ll be a similar video when that comes out.

  48. saxbend on April 13, 2022 at 6:44 pm

I don’t normally listen to or read reviews before I’ve seen the film, not even spoiler-free ones, but just based on the trailer for Morbius, I really cannot be arsed with it. So spoil away!
