You know you guys brought back memories from when I a toddler in Korea 44 years ago. I remember the eels, the dried sea rays, the snails. It’s been so long I have forgotten about Korea, mostly because I got adopted to an American family and been Americanized. I am almost 50, this trip you took to Korea brought back so many memories like it was only yesterday. I haven’t forgotten about hearing the screaming pigs being butchered in the streets when someone bought one as well. But those eels what really jogged my memory. I almost went back to Korea when I was in the US Army but at the last minute the Army changed my assignment to Afghanistan.

dokdo is currently controlled by korea and has korean police presence on the island (not military, to signify its peaceful ownership). It shouldn’t be considered contentious just because japan is making a claim. by that logic any country can claim any land without ever owning it.

Not going to lie, the seafood seems a bit… intense… but is the true epitome of fresh seafood. I’m so curious what the shark and whale taste like. I really want to visit South Korea… one day, one day!
Thjat’s exactly the same shark we used to eat in The Netherlands! Just until a law made it impossible to name food something it isn’t and they were always called "sea eels" which they weren’t. That was the end of shark consumption in The Netherlands though.
