"Geology is the Kardashians of Science" Sheldon Cooper ……….. great video BTW ….please make one about the Amber with insects inside it.
Fire opal is excactly worth NOTHING…. nobody of the gem markets wants to by fire opal……..
Fire opal my Ass , Great paper weight , it’s useless and worth less it has no color our fire in it , only a moron will pay that kind of money , it’s like having a big chunk of dark amber colorless, Opal is known for its true beauty and amazing colors with out that theirs no point having it our investing money on it , don’t get me wrong it’s a nice piece to carve and that’s about the most you can do with it
Is there a gemstone on earth that isn’t made on earth? (Meteorgems?)
Without seeing the distinctive colourplay that makes that specimen opal, i would just assume it’s a normal honey opal. 250,000 is a bit steep when lumps of precious opal sell for only a couple hundred per kg. If it is indeed honey opal and doesn’t have much in the way of "fire" then again that reduces the price point since honey opal is relatively common.
Which planet is related to mexican fire opal ?
Mainly white opal is related to venus
Australian fire opal is combination stone of : Sun , venus and Jupiter
But what about mexican fire opal ?
I read somewhere it’s for mars , venus , sun and jupiter ?
Blessings
Its worth flapjack and a half
Looks like lump of toffee
No fire no money
Flapjack duh
Somebody must have been shitting their pants when she started tossing that thing around. Better hope that fire opal is covered under your insurance.
I have a rainbow obsidian and some green fire opal and a tigers eye
2800$ ? 😀
Who names these things?? That doesn’t even look like fire
Cool
My mom owns a clear piece worth 600 euros as a necklace, I own an slightly bigger Cabochon Multicolor Black Opal. There is an ocean blue boulder opal next to me. I got moss opal somewhere, and milk opal too. We have too much opal in this house xD Edit: First I though it may be the lighting but now I know that my mom’s opal is definitely more orange compared to that one. http://bit.ly/2zBdaKf
I have never seen a vid with no dislikes
I’ve an 18 lb rough opal rock in matrix from Eastern Oregon. Where can I get it appraised?
haha, I knew it was from México before you even mentioned it XD
so about 25 bucks a carat. does not sound so great when you break it down that way.
That’s a huge one o.O
Fire opal is usually found in Mexico. The city of Durado has the cleanest, most clear fire opal.
There is also a deposit found in Oregon in the US, it is clearer and more beautiful than Durado Fire Opal. The US opal is found in yellow, honey and strawberry colors.
That’s Mexican fire agate not fire opal. Fire opal like that would come from Oregon and have a mohs hardness of 5.5 – 6.5. that Mexican fire agate (if it came from Mexico) will have a mohs hardness of 7+
Just wait! I’ll find a better one.
I WANT THAT I NEED THAT
To know I had just been haphazardly handling a stone worth a quarter of a million dollars would make my heart jump into my throat. xD Great video.
Black opal
Not to nitpick, but the editing is super annoying an unnatural. If you’re in such a hurry, why not edit out playful banter. You guys twitching and glitching through your sentences makes your videos…well…just listenable. Take it easy on the "split/delete/scoot" will ya’.
Flapjack
It looks like a giant piece of shatter
Please do green opal next!!!
Aussie Fire Opal is so much nicer, and much rarer, it has play of colour.
I wonder what it would look like shining different color lasers through it?
How is that a gemstone? Fire opal? Where are the beautiful brilliant colors? It’s nothing like an Australian black opal. The color is dull and unattractive. The jewelry is bland. I’d pay no more $30 bucks for the entire stone.
You ‘re so awesome
NOPE !!!!! YOUR PRICING IS SOOOO OFF…
The opal probably costed you an arm and a leg to get ahold of.
I am looking for information on a HUGE Oregon Opal rough I have
Translucent and about 5;bs (from an estate), do you have someone you can recommend?
FlapJack ( i am late by a lot)

She doesn’t always shake the box. She just usually shakes the box.
