Green Onyx. Does it really exist? #crystals #onyx #shorts

Most of the Green Onyx I see on the market is actually Banded Calcite. Onyx, by definition, is a banded chalcedony (member of the quartz family), typically seen in black and white coloring. I’ve tested some of the commonly sold “green Onyx” in my possession – and it’s all calcite, which is a very different material than chalcedony. It measures a harndess of about 3 on the Mohs scale, and it reacts to acid. True Onyx measures a 7 on the Mohs scale, and doesn’t react to acid. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DrusyDreams
