I was a visiting nurse for 20 + years & had a patient who’s ( Russian) caregiver made a camomile poultice for the bed bound elderly’s skin. She wrapped the warm wet flowers in cheese cloth, and applied it like a compress to her skin. It was at least neutral, and didn’t do harm, I don’t know if it was just the attentiveness to turning and pressure relief, but her skin didn’t break down.
