In historic Euripean Christian culture, this green jasper received it’s name due to the small red flecks within the stone. These red hematite inclusions are representative of the blood of Christ, as it dripped down the cross to the rocks beneath. Known as the Martyr’s Stone, Blood Jasper, or Bloodstone. I can think of nothing more fitting than this to celebrate this Holiday. Happy Easter!
