The Rookie is an American police procedural television series created by Alexi Hawley for ABC. The series follows John Nolan, a man in his forties, who becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The series is produced by ABC Signature and Lionsgate Television; it is based on real-life LAPD officer William Norcross, who moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and joined the department in his mid-40s.

Penny’s a good guy. He may be a bit too greenhorn-ish and unprofessional at times, but he’s not reckless and wants to improve. Compared to when he was bragging on his first day, he’s gotten more stern and focused.

This movie paints cops like flawless superheroes irl they could’ve lit that guy up and got away with it. And verbal abuse from the arresting officer gets the guy off the charge ?? Shit that’s standard protocol

Yeah, per protocal EMS would not enter the scene until the scene has been cleared by PD, and we certainly wouldn’t put ourselves in further danger by trying to apprehend a suspect. That’s not our job, leave that to PD.
