    Heat treated amethyst is not “fake citrine.” Amethyst and Citrine are identical (the exact same chemical composition and physical properties), however “natural” citrine emerges from amethyst being heat treated by geothermal activity, whereas the alternate form of citrine is from manually baked amethyst. Either way, it is heated amethyst.
