they grow a lot of their veggies and fruit too. AND the genetics are paramount.

Any diet that stays away from processed food, refined carbs, and sugars is going to make you healthy. Most of the time the foods you don’t eat are just as important as the ones you do…

  6. @theeguardiangamer8937 on October 8, 2024 at 7:34 pm

Anything that’s high in fat isn’t good, but all the veggies with it balances it out.

  7. @grandmastert01 on October 8, 2024 at 7:35 pm

How about a Mediterranean diet from walmart grocery section

  8. @charmeineca on October 8, 2024 at 7:37 pm

I’m switching to the Mediterranean Diet because I have nothing but issues with IBS thanks to hEDS. A couple of days in and I’m feeling so much better. Plus the recipes are so tasty. I don’t drink much wine though and don’t use as much oil but I love how colorful and tasty their recipes are.

Aw the little song Sophia sang was so cute

  10. @angelwings7930 on October 8, 2024 at 7:41 pm

Greek salad is so tasty even if you skip the feta cheese it’s still fabulous. Ugh,! Onions, bell pepper, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber !
I don’t add olives though. The homemade lemon juice, olive oil, salt and oregano (or basil) dressing is GREAT.

My wife and I just switched from the ketogenetic diet to the Mediterranean diet. After years of keto and losing over 25 lbs, we felt as if we were missing out on a lot of food we weren’t able to eat. Let me tell you, not only have I escaped my plateu but I can honestly say that I’ve never been so satisfied in my life. The food we eat now is so much more healthier and tastier than I could have ever imagined. Thanks for your vids, it have been transformative!

  12. @leraehinz on October 8, 2024 at 7:47 pm

I just came across this video and I purchased the cookbook! I look forward to more of your videos! My husband and I are attempting to overhaul our diet with our small kids, and these recipes look delicious!

I am genuinely confused. Isn’t this the MODERN Mediterreanean Diet since tomatoes and potatoes are native to the Americas. What was the real Mediterranean diet like before the last 500 years? I have a lot of weight to lose and the Mediterranean woman at the beginning of the video had an enormous waistline. Of course, my waist line is 2 to 3 times bigger. Is this the right diet for me, if I don’t want my waist line to stay just as enormous (way bigger than Santa Claus) or get any bigger? I lose control around potatoes and bread.

  14. @Jessicab-u7c on October 8, 2024 at 7:52 pm

    Adorable!

  15. @Imsaved777 on October 8, 2024 at 7:53 pm

Only problem is no one can afford eating this way.

  16. @IWillSexU on October 8, 2024 at 7:55 pm

Greetings from Greece, watching this video while I’m having a regular Mediterranean launch meal!

  17. @charlesdahmital8095 on October 8, 2024 at 7:56 pm

    Expensive?
    Look at it this way-
You can pay more for good healthful food today or
You can pay everything you have trying not to die from food related diseases later.

  18. @SuccessMindset2180 on October 8, 2024 at 7:57 pm

    1. What the real traditional mediterranian diet is?
    2. Asking people about diet
    3. Super high fat diet
    4. Big amount of vegetables
    5. Lot of potatoes and bread
    6. Mediteranian diet is traditionally low cost – less meat, more vegetables, pasta
    7. Alcohol: some people drink alcohol, some people don’t

  19. @SuccessMindset2180 on October 8, 2024 at 8:00 pm

    5:57 This part looks situational

  20. @mleav2 on October 8, 2024 at 8:00 pm

My man just used 20 dollars of extra virgin olive oil.

  21. @paisano316 on October 8, 2024 at 8:02 pm

“They’re the healthiest ppl in the world.” Then shows a woman 50lbs overweight.

  22. @ealdorman5053 on October 8, 2024 at 8:04 pm

There are some things I’ll switch, like Spinach to Beef Liver
    Make beets the main veggie

For meats outside of Fish, I’ll continue with beef organs (cheaper)
    Ribeye occasionally (1-2 a wk or bi-wkly)

I mostly eat rice, black beans, Red meat with raw honey, salt, fermented beets & with other veggies
Fenugreek & hemp seeds for breakfast usually
sometimes adding large servings of natto beans to food or eat it for breakfast
mostly apples & oranges for fruit

I ferment dairy with L Reuteri & add blueberries & honey
Mostly drink water/tea, outside of some juice I like raw milk when I can get it

This is outside of the herbs, creatine, etc. I take

Unless the work I’m doing will be taxing like this wk doing 8-12hr shifts in 95+ degrees

Typically eat one large meal a day after work

I looking for a change & research seem to say this diet is great for Mitochondrial health…Mitochondrion health…not sure how to phrase that

    This seems great though
I wanted to learn how to make Ancient Greco-Roman dishes
Might as well make the switch

  23. @jamesmcdonald240 on October 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm

I always heard okinawans /Japanese were the healthiest

  24. @LeighannRiceDietitian on October 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm

Thanks for an informative and funny video! Thanks 🙂

  25. @tiamisrahi6226 on October 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm

you forget the most important thing: the sunshine . No amount of vegetables and olive oil will work if they are grown in vat and artificiial ligt

  26. @Candy-o1z on October 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm

The vegetables that they are eating aren’t covered in pesticides…also they are eating real olive oil…the olive oil here is diluted with soybean oil…also the lifestyle…they are outside in nature and they are socially active with people they have known their whole lives on a daily basis…they aren’t watching TV..they aren’t getting their souls sucked away by social media…they aren’t doing awful boring stressful jobs…I think at this point even the third world countries have better health statistics than the US….we are a machine made to make money in every way…they are living life as it was meant to live.

  27. @jeannettelinthicum9654 on October 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm

I’ve been to Greece 5 times they have something we don’t have it’s that they are not nearly as stressed as we are they enjoy their day to day life and live in the moment Beautiful country Beautiful people ❤❤❤❤

  28. @lavendercait on October 8, 2024 at 8:06 pm

I just realized my most intuitive way of eating is the Mediterranean diet. I love lemons, veggies, potatoes, and pasta. I don’t drink very often though.

  29. @christophersnedeker on October 8, 2024 at 8:06 pm

    Thanks

  30. @TameraScott-ei7is on October 8, 2024 at 8:06 pm

  31. @eatpeacock on October 8, 2024 at 8:08 pm

but if they’re farmers, that means they working style is very exercise style, that’s why they can eat so much olive oil. and that’s why the youtuber is not slim.

  33. @akaski777 on October 8, 2024 at 8:09 pm

  34. @rosembermorales1995 on October 8, 2024 at 8:10 pm

So basically every conception of what I think is the Mediterranean diet is actually the opposite. XD. Gotta love learning new knowledge.

  35. @CourtneyHill-Digitalcreator on October 8, 2024 at 8:13 pm

I’m glad I found your Channel valuable information. But why did you skin your cucumber? a lot of the nutrients are in the skin.

  36. @allisonfraizer on October 8, 2024 at 8:14 pm

Can’t wait to try the Mediterranean diet!

  37. @Ludi8153 on October 8, 2024 at 8:15 pm

    I like the word misperceptions…js

  38. @herbbowler2461 on October 8, 2024 at 8:16 pm

Basically the way I eat. But my wife can’t eat much fats or oils because of no gallbladder. However butter is great with the same health benefits and butter doesn’t bother her!

  39. @something_cleverer on October 8, 2024 at 8:17 pm

Your daughter is so adorable, and I i love your family’s dirt song! So wholesome and fun!

  40. @robzul7846 on October 8, 2024 at 8:17 pm

I am trying to get into the medi diet. So far I only eat poultry and fish as my main source of protein. I very rarely eat red meat(only on special occasion) and I substitute white rice with sweet potatoes.

  41. @soham_geek on October 8, 2024 at 8:19 pm

You have a lovely family !
