I bought a model 66 4 inch barrel 4 yrs ago and enjoy it more than ever, it has a smooth action and lots of punch, it is easy to carry open or concealed, I have shot it a thousand times and when I miss it’s not because of the gun. Enjoy

  2. @ExploreAmerica on May 7, 2024 at 5:28 pm

Your video came up at the top of search for Taurus 66

  3. @marcthomas2482 on May 7, 2024 at 5:29 pm

  6. @glenmo1 on May 7, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Smith & Wesson gun similar to this are over the $1,000 range now new you’re lucky if you can pick one up used for like $800 this Taurus goes for $480 at Bass pro.. and I’m checking today with a gun store up in Northern Connecticut that sells guns a lot cheaper looks like you could get it for 430 or 440

  7. @johndavies5871 on May 7, 2024 at 5:38 pm

Just bought 6 inch version in stainless can’t wait till 7 day waiting period ends to pick it up

  8. @trekbsg on May 7, 2024 at 5:39 pm

Beautiful looking revolver. It’s a shame Taurus stopped using the gloss bluing instead of the flat bluing they use today. The first pistol I ever purchased on my own was a Taurus PT99 and have owned a number of Tauruses since over the last few decades or so. They are great firearms for the price.

  9. @mattnasty559 on May 7, 2024 at 5:40 pm

Have had one for a 6 or 7 years now still one of my favorites on the range especially with .38 special . Speed loaders are kinda finicky tho

  10. @keithchambers3826 on May 7, 2024 at 5:43 pm

Good morning Al good shooting I have the model 689 similar to the 66 but has a ventilated barrel and a six-shot but it’s a good shooter thank you Al and have a blessed day

  11. @robertwess4556 on May 7, 2024 at 5:44 pm

    Great 357 magnum

  12. @immortal_d2036 on May 7, 2024 at 5:45 pm

I have the 4 inch version. Great gun. Shots any ammo. Love the 7 rounds. I upgraded the trigger spring and lighting it up a little. All round great gun to have. I carry it in a cross draw holster when I go into the woods. Very accurate revolver.

  13. @OutOfShape on May 7, 2024 at 5:45 pm

i wish you were my grandpa

    thanks Al!

  14. @TheBandit59 on May 7, 2024 at 5:46 pm

How do you stack that up against a Smith or Colt? Years ago I carried a S&W model 64, in those days thats what you carried on duty. I have a lot of respect for Taurus, I used to teach an off duty pistol class, and the Taurus used to beat the Berretta 92’s for reliability, in the semiautos.

  15. @larrysample4046 on May 7, 2024 at 5:50 pm

Can you buy that nice shiny blued model 66 you are shooting? I’ve only found the ugly matte black available. Enjoyed your video!

  16. @wildchild4163 on May 7, 2024 at 5:52 pm

Can you post how mene yards your shooting. I have old eyes to. Nice shooting.

  18. @kerrydavidsadler980 on May 7, 2024 at 5:58 pm

TAURUS are making some great revolvers, I have two different TAURUS revolvers and a TAURUS pistol 9mm. All are great shooters.

  19. @jomcginn2100 on May 7, 2024 at 5:58 pm

Nice video and info. Bought a stainless, same pistol, today.

  20. @KaiButtner on May 7, 2024 at 5:59 pm

My local gun store has got a brand new S&W 460 mag. with a 8 3/8 barrel. Very nice, but expensive… and… there´s no ammo to get at the moment. Very pity 🙁

  21. @mrsmel269 on May 7, 2024 at 5:59 pm

great looking tool brother !!! awesome day on the range.

  22. @oreopuppydawg1564 on May 7, 2024 at 6:00 pm

Al I just traded up a Colt king cobra. Never owned a colt and was very excited that I finally had a colt till I shot it. I traded a ruger redhawk in that didn’t shoot well. I was so disappointed. Is Taurus really that good of a shooter? Seems like I’ve been burned on several American rifles and pistols. I really would like to have something that shoots good. Would you woods carry a Taurus 66 or 627?

  23. @phxamigo on May 7, 2024 at 6:00 pm

Do you they still make the "blue" version ? because on there website they only list a black oxide version which is definitely different than the blued version.

  24. @libra7624 on May 7, 2024 at 6:01 pm

front right pocket carry is possible, wrangler relaxed fit type jeans 2 sizes over if you have a good belt, uncle mikes inside waist band holster, a few 3XL size t shirt to give length covering pocket, reason for relaxed fit jeans is when sitting gun moves easy and doesnt print much, full power 357 mag with 7 shots and a 7 shot hks speed loader and a few extra speed loaders and your rifle in vehicle and your set for man or beast

  25. @glenmo1 on May 7, 2024 at 6:02 pm

Tonite Saw a blued model 66 ..4in & 6 in ..$486 at Bass pro & now that I’ve watched multiple
Favorable reviews I AM BUYING ONE THIS WEEKEND !
I was thinking of the 6-in barrel since it will be more of a range gun..But I might want to carry it for self-defense occasionally so I think I’m going with the 4-in barrel! Is a large gun store here in Connecticut that I’m going to call tomorrow to see if they have any in stock it’s about an hour drive but worth it because their prices are so much lower store called Hoffman’s in Newington Connecticut.. I always get fantastic gun deals there on new guns.. picked up a six shot Taurus 856 defender… With the beautiful altamont wood grips… for 400 bucks 3 years ago….

  26. @jaydee5156 on May 7, 2024 at 6:06 pm

I do wish they still sold them blued instead of black oxide.

  27. @billhamilton7524 on May 7, 2024 at 6:06 pm

Nice shooting but where’s the gun review ?? WTF

  28. @kimwarfield1587 on May 7, 2024 at 6:06 pm

    That is a pretty gun.

  29. @claytonoakley8677 on May 7, 2024 at 6:13 pm

I own one in 4 inch configuration 4000 rounds only issue i ever had was an ammo issue not a gun issues. Its always shot accurate and is one of my favorite weapons at the range. Not sure if im just lucky but its been an amazing revolver. Not quite the fit and finish of my Ruger or smith but still a working mans handgun

  30. @littleteethkeith on May 7, 2024 at 6:14 pm

I have a M66 and Tracker. I love them both. Love the 7 shot capacity on both models. The tracker might shoot a little bit easier due to the porting on the barrel but not much.

  31. @charlesh1735 on May 7, 2024 at 6:15 pm

Taurus has really stepped their game up for revolver pistols over the past decade or so. I actually own the Taurus model 80 that’s chambered in .38 special with a 4” barrel. It was manufactured back in the early 80’s and it fires nicely. I have never had any issues with the pistol, and it also is pretty accurate. I am thinking about buying the Taurus model 66 in stainless steel with a 6” barrel. For about 550 dollars you can’t beat that price for a reliable revolver. They are a blast to shoot, especially the .357 magnum revolver because you can also shoot the lighter .38 special +p ammo through them as well. I wish they made the model 66 with wood grips on the black matte revolver, that would be a gorgeous firearm!

  32. @jasonashley4579 on May 7, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I’ve got a Taurus model 65 made in the late 70’s and a newer production one a well, they shoot just as well as my Smith 686 or my Ruger redhawk.

  33. @ashbyt1 on May 7, 2024 at 6:17 pm

I have a 66 in SS with 4" barrel. Have had it for 5 years without any kind of problem. i use it for home defense.

  34. @fergusonto-2032 on May 7, 2024 at 6:17 pm

I have really enjoyed this video , I’m wanting a 357 so I’m considering the Taurus model 66 , your video has helped me to decide that I think this would be a good dependable gun & not cost as much as the Colt , S&W etc; , Thankyou & God Bless.

  35. @Lowballinoutdoorz on May 7, 2024 at 6:17 pm

Looks like one i would like to pick up

  36. @garyrichter5745 on May 7, 2024 at 6:18 pm

I have a 4" one in stainless but I don’t hit as good as you do.

  37. @ronaldfarley7130 on May 7, 2024 at 6:19 pm

Nice shooting Al and a good video

  38. @brockhowell2296 on May 7, 2024 at 6:21 pm

I have the 6" version and it’s one of my favorite guns to shoot and I haven’t had any problems with any of the rounds I’ve used so far. It’s certainly great for a night stand and/or camping gun and YES, I’m a huge fan of that extra (7th) round. Funny thing is that there aren’t a lot of videos on the Taurus 66, there’s plenty on the 856, 605 and even the 627, but the 66 gets no love so it’s good to see you make a video on it.

  39. @almirria6753 on May 7, 2024 at 6:21 pm

I carried one when I was working as a security officer in st. louis, Mo. It was chambered in .38 & had fixed sights on it, but I had Tritium sights mounted on it
and in the 12 years that I carried it for work, it was only out of the holster 3 times in the line of duty & never fired [except on the range & I spent a lot of time on the range too] It was a heck of a carry side arm too.

  40. @firearmsaddict5854 on May 7, 2024 at 6:22 pm

Nice video and revolver my friend.

  41. @adamreid6931 on May 7, 2024 at 6:22 pm

I have the exact same one. I purchased it in 2020 when the pandemic started. Great revolver.

  42. @Dontlicktheballoons on May 7, 2024 at 6:25 pm

Is she rated for 357mag +p?

Love your video, keep it up and god bless

  43. @gillysguns9244 on May 7, 2024 at 6:25 pm

These are a great pistol for a bargain price. Nice shooting Al!
