Decluttering One of Canada's Messiest Families | Kim’s Rude Awakenings S1 E1 | Only Human
The Black family home is an outrageous mess that’s filled with dirty laundry, discarded toys, and plenty of useless junk. A stay-at-home single mom, Benita wants to go back to work eventually… But with four kids and a gruelling non-stop routine, she fears she’ll never get her life in order. That’s where domestic diplomats — Kim Woodburn and Mike Chalut — come in. They vow to purge the house of its clutter, get the family to communicate, and create a master plan for the Black’s dizzying schedule… But will they be able to convince Mom to let go and get the kids to carry their own weight?

Kim Woodburn
I am proud of those kids!!! She was subconsciously trying to keep them babies so they wouldn’t leave her too. To say I don’t even know if they can make a sandwich is crazy, those kids are old. By 12 and 13 my daughters could bake cakes, make homemade pizza and a simple dinner.
Is that the "How Clean is Your House?" lady?
❤loves
Okay so I’d consider myself a home maker ish but I definitely would appreciate a video of her explaining just like this tricks for laundry etc. very nice.
Kids need to get off their lazy buts ! This has to be scripted!
So many ads!
That’s terrible. That’s exactly the way to NOT do it when it comes to real hoarders. It will leave them highly traumatized.
what do you mean ‘even’ hoards the kids pictures from pre school? surely that album is one of her most treasured possessions. who throws their kids first pictures away?
Wtf is a retainer
Well I think this woman should have been on hoarders
I watched about 5 minutes and that was enough to be outraged at the attitude that it’s the Mom’s fault and the place is crammed with junk. Not helpful in helping her heal the trauma and overwhelm of losing her husband nor praising her herculean efforts as a single mom nor coming up with a plan to help the whole family heal, hence the coddling.
I keep my kids art.
He must’ve had a good life insurance policy if she’s been stay at home mom all these years.
What a beautiful family!
Lol the family looked shell shocked standing on the porch when the two helpers arrived.
I knew about elastic, but is that true about the bar of soap for dingy collars?
You are amazing Benita! Everything you have gone through losing your husband and raising your kids on your own, you focused on their happiness and it’s paid off! So glad you were able to get help and support and that your kids got the push they needed to contribute ❤ Such a beautiful family xx
Where’s Aggie?
I like Kim, she makes me laugh, but I don’t like how Mike isn’t included in the title of the show. I feel like he makes actual differences in the families and offers genuine good advice.
Ah it’s Kim Woodburn and what a treat…
didnt see any cleaning
Woah ….. horrifying …. making a spectacle out of someones house disorganisation. Disorganisation doesn’t happen overnight and neither does organisation.
She is not a hoarder.
That’s my mom literally smh
Gorgeous mum, gorgeous looking, as are her kids, very lucky, and beautiful home that definitely needs a spruce up.
She looks like a female version of Bruno Mars
How did she not work for so long? That’s what I don’t understand
That weird chick in the pink is rude and snobby as heck
What kid doesn’t prefer their parent to clean? One day they stop doing it reguarly though, obviously. But you end up really appreciating it then, when they make you do it yourself and contribute – then the times where there’s too much on your plate and a parent cleans for you as an adult – really makes you realise how much they did for us.
ew and none of them were wearing masks? This is why the uk struggling
I love the old school brown clogs the mom wearing, just slip the barefeet in them, can wear them all day doing errands, cleaning house, going for walks, just hope she used powder in them shoes, or didn’t always wear them, when you wear those clogs barefoot all the time, you’re feet will smell like a bag of Corn chips.
I really enjoyed this episode. Such great kids. Benita is a great mom. I’m so glad she’ll have more time for herself.
Let’s meet my Asian mom 🙂
Where’s her family and the dead daddy’s family to be helping out??? That would be EXPECTED!!!!
Let me tell being "super mum" is not fun nor its helpful to the kids
Okay but now the oldest daughter is having to help the little ones. Is this really the solution

I have one box per child for their childhood memories, special art works, school reports, awards and photos. They know to look for their things in their boxes. I have added Army acceptance letters, University offers, employment offers as they have reached adulthood.
Omg I’m five minuets in and I just realised I’m starting to be like this my house isn’t as messy but my drawers are full of paper non working batteries broken jewellery and random tiny toys think I’ve set my self off on a cleaning day don’t watch this at 8.30 in the morning !
Poor mum trying to do everything on her own for so long. Those kids should have been given chores o take care of the house years ago. Now they’re just lazy, no respect and they don’t care, especially the 14 and 16 year old.
I hope that her kids will pressure her to throw clutter away. It doesn’t seem that mom will do this by herself.
What a lovely family. The kids really stepped up and Kim handled the situation so well.
You want to see Kim when she’s drunk and angry – honestly, she’s comedy gold.
If I yelled mom I’m hungry and expected her to prepare food I wouldn’t make it to Christmas.
