Breathe to Heal | Max Strom | TEDxCapeMay
With anxiety, stress, and sleep dysfunction skyrocketing around the globe, it’s time we look at the unspoken reasons why. These debilitating challenges can be meaningfully impacted with ten to twenty minutes of breathing exercises per day. Max Strom, who has taught breath-work for 20 years, reveals his insights into the healing power of the breath.
Max Strom teaches personal transformation, mindfulness, and yoga worldwide and is known for inspiring and impacting the lives of his students. His Inner Axis method addresses the internal aspects of our life and our potential for physical and emotional healing. He is the author of “A Life Worth Breathing,” and, “There is No App for Happiness.”
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
People in this world are getting more and more unhappy, and they try to find many things to solve it. Including this method, yoga, breathing, mindfulness, breaking stuff therapy, and all kinds of therapy. I personally think people are unhappy these days because they reject the source of all joy which is God. I mean the Christian God, who offers the world such a great and unfathomable love. But everyone rejects Him.
Great
Better than reading the book. Your body is your temple. You are what you eat.
That was fantastic.
Useful video. For stress and overthinking problem be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing your life with others, reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your incoming–outgoing breath sensations at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. You can sit or lay down on the bed–eyes closed–No deep breathing. Don’t fight your thoughts. With practice the mind will relax. Never meditate with expectations but with self-awareness. Observe your breath anywhere –anytime– before sleep, at work, when travelling, taking a walk, etc with eyes open or closed. Like me make breath observing a lifetime habit to have a better life. Best wishes–Counsellor.
Some people takes cigarette breaks, you take breathing break.

I’ve been having an issue where I can’t seem to stop monitoring my breathing a times, does anybody know what I can do about it? I’m trying to learn breathing exercises to tackle the issue, this one here is a good first step
Max speaks perfect sense…I need to listen to Max Strom read to me and I would melt into the chair. What an excellent calming voice. My pulse is a regular 60, it went down even further and my watch thought I was asleep.
Very positive indeed.

It’s amazing how our breath can heal so many trapped and unwanted emotions in the body.
Some doors only open from the inside
Well he nailed 2020 in his opening monologue.

Society is breeding anxiety and depression
It may be useful to keep in mind that during this very useful presentation he sometimes uses the word technology when he probably means to say technique.
So good. Thanks so much for this!
I agree. I use this technique all the time to help with it doesn’t matter what, and it WORKS!
Breathe first…
This was a phenomenal TedTalk ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
U have a beautiful tone of voice ! Very calming speaking voice !!
Best and most helpful Ted talk I’ve heard. Thx Mr. Strom!
Meditation involves intentional breathing. Breathing is part of meditation. What Mr. Strom says about anxiety & grief & breathing is so very bang-on. Great discussion.
This video made me cry for the first time in over a year
Thank you Tedex
I don’t use to comment, but this video deserves it, it was very good. I also envy, in a good way, your voice, the resonance of your voice, you can tell your lunges are wider than normal somehow. Greetings from Mendoza, Argentina!!!
