What is Gem Silica? What is it Worth?

Gem silica is one of the most valuable translucent gemstones. It is similar in structure to chrysoprase, but has a different coloration. I have a lot of experience of mining this material in Arizona. What is gem silica worth? Watch this video to find out!

So it turns out that agate and carnelian are both types of chalcedony, crystal silicon dioxide. I wonder if Phos’s legs count both as agate and carnelian? Probably not but If so then Phos is only missing silver.

    Admirabilis shell for seashell
Agate for agate (and possibly carnelian)
    Gold-platinum alloy for gold
    Lapis’s head for lapis lazuli
    Synthetic pearl eye for pearl

At this point how would Phos even incorporate new materials? There isn’t much left to replace aside from the torso and I struggle to see how that can be lost on its own as everything else is attached to it.

I’ve started bingeing on your videos… I came here as a flintnapper, follow me?
Does this blue stone concoidal fracture in the same way regular glass, flint, obcidian, chert ECT does?

What are your thoughts on this gemstone? It is the third most valuable gemstone which can be found in Arizona. It is only behind peridot and wulfenite. It is fun to search for, but difficult to find.

Just stumbled across this video and am stoked to see that you have personally done all this work with searching the land like you have! I just moved to Tucson from Idaho and have already been out finding my probably favorite new find chrysocolla! I’m in the central Tucson area but would love to be shown around if you happen to be close to me and willing to do so! Great video and great work

Very cool! Thanks for the great work. Here in Maryland, we have tons of carnelians and many other types of agates but I only find rare hints of gem silica.
