I just brought a rose quartz wire wrapped necklace. (Wire isn’t sterling silver) I need to cleanse it before I wear it. So it was safe to keep it in water for 24 hours. Or like the person at the shop stated, she cleanse her crystals by running tap water over them and visualize them being clean and fresh.

When you charge them under the moon dos it have to be full moon??
Note: please do not use white sage as it is being overharvested whilst its habitat is also going through a major drought,, and is now classified as "special concern" by conservation groups, it also belongs to native Americans, and is particularly scared to them it is part of a closed practice, so unless you are active in a tribe yourself, it is considered cultural appropriation to use it. There are many other species of sage to use, all species of sage is just as cleansing as white sage, so please PLEASE be mindful and use another species of sage.
