I began the acne battle in my teens and started using 50% alcohol to fight back. After awhile I moved up to 70% for a number of years then back to 50% in my 20’s- early 30’s. When I turned 42 I decided to start taking better care of my skin and now have a healthier routine. Fortunately my skin still looks healthy but the acne battle is neverending.

As a person with Psoriasis; I never ever use bar soap on my face. I wash my hair and face with Dandruff shampoo, T-gel once a month, Hydrogen Peroxide ( every 2 weeks ), and Burt’s Bees organic lotion ( every day ). No problems here since 2003 ( born in 1991 ).

The only moisturizer that works for my face is the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lotion tbh. I know it’s mainly for the body but it keeps my face smooth and clear. I tried switching to the Neutrogena water gel moisturizer but it just wasn’t for me. Of course I don’t use it as stand alone though. First I wash my face with African Black Soap, then I use the Dickinson’s Facial Toner which I then finish off with the Palmer’s lotion.
What are you supposed to wash your face with?

Guessing my bar soap that is meant for acne is okay (it’s the grandpa’s acne soap with sulphur). Also oh my god I once did Vaseline on my face for less than a week at fist I thought it was great but the day I stopped I had the worst acne and painfully dry skin. I had to just push through the next few days. Definitely don’t do it.
