I’m new to rock tumbling, just on my 2nd batch. I’m curious of what kind of tumbler, and what size of barrel you are using? Your stones look rather large, and I Love it. Sweet videos too, Thank You.

I was wondering when you did 3 weeks of course grit, did you put in a new batch of grit for each 1 week interval? or were you running the same initial batch of grit for the whole 3 weeks

Tigers eye is awesome but when I roughed it for one week a lot of it still came out with cracks and crevices with the grit stuck in there. I had to stick those back in for another week. I think from now on I will be less impatient on the roughing step. Tigers eye seems to be prone to cracks and crevices and the grit will stick in there and make it look dull and white. I really, really appreciate your burnishing advice. I sprayed off about 11 pounds of various agates, tigers eye and similar hardness stones and then I used dish soap and granulated sugar after just the first step of roughing for one week and I left them in there and went and did DoorDash for a day and came back and was tired so I fell asleep and when I woke up I took them out and sprayed them off and they looked like they skipped the next 2 steps and were almost at full polish. That really confused me. But yeah, there was a thin layer of fine grit that was stuck in all the micro crevices on the bottom of the barrel and I guess with the sugar it acted like a polish grit for a day. It was like 65% there for the shine factor. I’m a newbie on this so take what I say with a grain of sugar.
