The ‘Garimpeiros’ make a run towards the exit of the mine gallery; they have placed dynamite in the walls that will explode in a few moments. An abundant amount of dust pushes its way out through the gaping hole. The three men take their time for the air to become breathable again… They enter with a rapid heartbeat as always, but this time a gap has opened up, leaving us to discover a major fault, in which lies a “monster.” A rock crystal that visibly weighs an estimated 5 tons.

This documentary will allow you to take a glimpse into the world of Brazilian ‘garimpeiros’ that search for the largest crystals in the world: the Giant Crystals.

In the city of Araçuai, in Governador Valadares, the miners, the dealers and the collectors have no limits as to the weight or the size of the gems they collect.

You enter deep into their lives, discoveries, and their traditions.

Along the way you will also discover the mine of Capon near The Ouro Preto which produces the Imperial Topaz with colors ranging from golden yellow to mauve.

Then the South of Brasil, in a town called Amethyst, you step into the depths of the earth to discover amethyst geodes so large, a human body in its entirety may enter within. These geodes were formed in lava lakes at the time of the great dinosaurs.

These exceptional gems are used in Brasil for esoteric practices and in New Age ceremonies which you will gracefully enter through this film.

You can then view in this documentary, the most beautiful crystals, which are exported to the collections of museums, such as the Museum of Natural History in Paris, now closed for the general public’s eyes to see.

You will then witness before you, creative works of art of Munsteiner’s Jewelry collections, realized from these giant crystals of Brazil.

In Minas Gerais the mining still looks like colonial times. And obviously these people are being slaved they got nothing for those crystals.

I love your videos, learned a lot, bought some stones and need time to make myself jewelry. The where and how you find them is the best part of this hobby. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

This guy is acting like he’s a king or crystals and he’s the only one who could cut them the right way this guy’s an idiot he’s just whacking up the sculptures it was natural and trying to clean the artist his like he understands how the crystal wants to be all cut up know it was to be left alone so it can grow naturewise if you wants to cut it up and call it art that’s a different story but don’t say that he knows crystals and how they want to be cut because he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about he’s just taking a crystal and using it as a artboard

If they’re saying 10 kg off of this rack size which is like cool looks like it weighs a ton and they’re only giving you $3000 for like 1 kg they’re taking you to Highway robbery because 1 kg is one carat diamond and that’s $3000. If you have a rock that size you got like 5000 diamonds plus in it these people are being paid poorly as far as collecting the rock and then only being paid for 1 kg Which could be one carat or 1 ton of a diamond and if it’s a one time they should be rich and she be well dressed well fed well housing they should be able to afford to do things that they want to do the spire of the mind and buying the diamonds is highway robbery to the people

~13:00 Paraphrasing: "…If you want to find some crystals I’ll make phone call…(then after making one short phone call) …I now have another number and if you like I can call them, but IT’S NOT EASY" (Makes second short call ) "…you can find crystals at…"

Well, knock me over with a feather, that second call was NOT EASY.

Great vid but that crystal grinder artist is not impressing me, it somehow detracts from the beauty of natural crystal.

This world is so upside down. Here are these guys risking their lives, and thanking God for things being good. And that Guy sits in his chair saying it’s getting hard because cost of labor is going up, when he lives in the lap of luxury.

hi people who go around exploring in nature for bare admiration and appreciation of mineral life , but people look at us like we are up to something staring at the ground

    It is an advert.

  35. Noneof Yourbusiness on October 28, 2022 at 11:00 pm

These crystal doesn’t takes millions of years to form to crystal you dummy.

  36. Anita Peura on October 28, 2022 at 11:00 pm

Gave up after a few minutes. Without the mercantile aspect it may have become an interesting documentary. As it was, with little if any info about the geological processes that create the crystals, the social aspects of the miners, and that constantly running ribbon at the bottom of the screen, it should never have been labelled a "documentary", it was an ad from start to end. Poor show.

  37. daniel neufeld on October 28, 2022 at 11:01 pm

Incredible stones. Sad they are all being harvested and shipped overseas. Millions of years in the making. Should be left intact.

Geodes are so beautiful. It would be nice to have a pair of people sized geodes, drill small hole in the bottom and LED light them up from inside so they look like a glowing couple ! 🙂

would like to see pictures of where they are mining these gems ,whaat is it doing to the country and enviroment? When the people from Brazil going mining do they get a good wage? I love gems as much as everyone else but these are my thoughts.

I don’t think any natural quartz is used in electronics today. Millions of kilos of flawless quartz crystals are grown in Japan, China, and the USA. In the time of WWII, crystals from Brazil were used as frequency oscillators in radio and other equipment. However the inconsistencies in the natural crystals, combined with the difficulty in transporting crystals from Brazil, drove the Western Electric company to develop synthetic quartz crystals. https://youtu.be/oFH8_uLzano

If only they could put more commercials in this video, maybe every 15 seconds would work that way there can actually be more advertising than what people actually chose to watch. For a woke ass company Google/YouTube who constantly virtue signal about saving the planet, you would think ads would be banned like Trump supporters as the current levels of human consumption is depleting the earth’s resources and creating trash faster than it can be disposed of but nope, buy buy buy! That will reduce the carbon footprint. See the hypocrisy?
