Searching For Quartz Crystals, Garnets and Tourmaline in pegmatites!!

In this video I’m searching one of my spots to see what kind of indicator minerals I can find and possibly see if I can find any crystal pockets. Sorry I’ve been out of the works for a bit, hopefully I can start making more vids soon and just recently I bought myself a flat lap so there will be some lapidary videos coming in the future😃

Are you planning on selling any of these, or are you keeping them all for your collection? I’d love to buy some to polish up!

Using a flathead screw driver doesn’t do ad much damage if any when searching. Friendly suggestion…

You had a great day rockhounding! Beautiful garnets, tourmaline and feldspar!
I will need to look at exposed rock areas in my area a lot closer to see if there are any nice rocks waiting to be found.

What area are you in? And what state?

Nice pegmatites! Too bad the garnets are so encased in the host rock. Such a beautiful area up there…

Dental picks and mechanics O-ring pullers work well for cleaning around crystals.

Those garnets are so sweet. The facets are awesome. Show those wicked coastal mountains more, I love that cloud shrouded look.
