Gemini Ganesan, was an Indian actor who worked mainly in Tamil cinema. He was born on 17 November 1920, in Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father was Ramasamy Iyer. His mother Bhagirathi Amma was a homemaker.
At the age of 19 Gemini married Alamelu. Alamelu and Ganesan have four daughters– Revathi, Kamala, Jayalakshmi & Narayani. He was married to Pushpavalli. Pushpavalli died in 1992 of ailments associated with diabetes in Madras. She was survived by her 5 children including a son Babji, and daughters Rama, Dhanalakshmi, Rekha and Radha. He later married Savitri while still married to his first wife. Savitri and Ganesan have two children: a daughter, Vijaya Chamundeswari, and Ganesan’s only son, Satheesh Kumar.
He was survived by seven daughters and a son. His fourth wife was Juliana Andrew, whom he married in July 1998. Abhinay Vaddi, Priya Selvaraj and Deepu Rajkamal Selvaraj, all are his grandchildren.
