What about when your north is in a corner? I did the 9 square grid, stood in the middle, the north is right on a corner and the east in another corner

@8:45 instead of ‘metal’ that is a manufactured element, think ‘stones’ that are the natural version of metal.

Metal is a mistranslation of the Chinese element, more accurately translated as ‘minerals’

Minerals are derived from stones and are listed as ‘metals’ on the periodic table of elements.

Try incorporating stones and carved stoneware, into the ‘metal’ corner.

Very nice video —thank you for sharing! Lots to think about and definitely mind opening.

I love your videos, they are very informative, however, there are often little inconsistencies.

@0:40 excess of white, (White curtains and white artworks on a white wall. It also appears there is glare coming in from the curtain, causing your features to become ‘whited-out.’ Guessing that wall is on the southern side (equatorial side). A more flattering light would bless your face if you sat on the northern side (polar side) of your home or perhaps in an outdoor setting in the garden.

Lack of water element and dark tones. Try filming in the golden hour or blue hour. sunrise and sunset.

Embrace the process of aging and let your naturally greying hair be a symbol of your increased wisdom and standing in society.

Also, check in with the alcohol consumption as it is stripping your vital nutrients, causing premature aging.

@5:50 some properties built on hills will have their own magnetic pull that interferes with compasses. Some houses have metal floors that also interefere.

To avoid this issue, use the Sun, by placing a stick in the ground outside and marking the shadow between 11am and 1pm to see the curvature of the shadow or you can get a rough guess from the shadow and knowing the time of day and angle of the sun (If you’re advanced).

Or use an online map website to assist you.

  13. Ruth Antiaobong on January 12, 2022 at 6:50 am

Thank you for the compass cheat!:D

Hi Julie, i dont quite understand. I was told that South East is Wealth corner and good to place things like water fountain or an aquarium to enhance wealth luck as money flow. However you mentioned in your video that water corner is North. I am confused. Please help!

I am very happy you talked about water features outside, I am wanting to put one in front of my home, I was confused about which side to put it on, which side when walking up to my home. I am wanting to do Feng Shui on the exterior of my home, can you talk more about exterior Feng Shui? I am going to be painting, and doing minor landscaping on the exterior this spring. I have updated the interior following your Feng Shui advise to the T, I love the way it turned out, when people walk in their remarks are WOW. THANK-YOU.

Would you think the television is metal or simply neutral? Also interested in textiles, what elements do they represent?

  22. I love the bush on January 12, 2022 at 6:55 am

@7:53 false, fake plants are unable to purify the air and so we are unable to benefit from "All of the ‘good’ chi that those ‘faux’ varieties bring in."

  23. Maddie Malacopa on January 12, 2022 at 6:56 am

Anyone else watching this and doesn’t even have a living room? I wish there was some kind of dent shut for a studio

  25. Jane Nierman on January 12, 2022 at 6:59 am

I am totally hooked and smitten! Just found your channel Julie and find you so talented and informative. I know I’m a little late to the party, but really enjoying every video – and just love the whole TJ Maxx story about how this all began. I never really thought about Feng Shui before, but found this completely fascinating and am eager to apply it in my new home. My biggest challenge is that my home is situated on a cul-de-sac and therefore on an angle which positions my living room’s primary/focal wall on the southeast wall of the room (while the corners of the room face N, S, E and W.) A floor to ceiling built-in bookcase takes up the entire southeast wall. It is devoid of windows thought the entire northeast wall is a sliding glass door. The southwest portion is where my 92" sofa sits with a long console table behind it. This is sort of the dividing point between my living and dining rooms. Any thoughts on how to better achieve good chi in this type of floorplan?

  26. nai wehbe on January 12, 2022 at 7:00 am

Hello..i m confused because when i make the bagua of my house i find that the left area of my living room is in the north area and i shoul not put an ondoor plant because this north is water and not gd to put wood element.
But when i made the bagua of the loving room separately , this left area became the earth area and better to put a wood element.
So what should i follow? The bagua of each room separately or the bagua of the apparetment .
    Thanks

  27. TI M on January 12, 2022 at 7:01 am

Thank you for this great video, I truly enjoyed it! You mentioned that silk plants could be substituted for real plants, I always wondered if they would still have the power of the wood element?

  28. Vanishree S on January 12, 2022 at 7:05 am

Hi, I enjoyed your video on living room. May I know the best placement of television and console in a living room.

  29. Pu Muilui on January 12, 2022 at 7:06 am

My opposite house is india old lady, has put shoes rack, facing my entrance, what should l do ,.?

  30. Thomas David on January 12, 2022 at 7:07 am

Thank you for all of this information. It is well presented and very clear.
What would be your advice on putting a ceiling fan over the lounge in an open plan area, where the lounge is near a glass rear wall, facing west, with sliding doors to the back yard. Unfortunately this would basically mean putting the fan directly over the sofa.

  31. Nivedita Baidya on January 12, 2022 at 7:10 am

Thank you Julie for the wonderful video. I have watched a dozen of Feng shui videos but you have simplified it completely so people like us can understand. I also leant how to find the directions by standing in the middle of the room as opposed to walking in from the front door and finding it.

There is a little clarification that I would want. When you said always have a focal piece of furniture in your living room and position in a way that when chi enters the room it can focus on the piece and can meander around the room what exactly does it mean. Shall I place a center table in the middle of the room? I have taken down notes and that Chi sheet was really needed. Thanks so much Julie.

  43. I love the bush on January 12, 2022 at 7:24 am

@1:36 There is again too much white. Those walls need to be repainted with a brown tone, possibly forest brown/green or brown/grey or a brown/red, even a brown/yellow would work.

Think of a forest. what colours do you see when you enter a forest?

What colours are on the ground of a forest? what about the vertical plane of a forest? tree trunks, bamboo?

  44. Linda Gordon on January 12, 2022 at 7:26 am

Hi Julie, Thank you for all your wonderful videos! We are building a new home (ready in April) and I am loving all your tip for keeping our home a positive energy place. Is a mirror OK in the foyer if it is not facing the front door, but rather on a right angle to the door?
