Watch 5 pro has the real thing… had it since launch and not even one microscopic scratch on the screen, pretty damn nice. My gf with watch 4 has some hailine scratches on the glass.

Samsung still delivering *quality* without breaking the bank, whereas Apple still rips people off with mediocre crap while having their user base convinced it’s the best stuff ever.
I have a Garmin Instinct solar and I’ll never buy any other smart watch again. A month worth of battery and accurate health stats. Super comfy too. Durable plastic.

I would like my devices to have the best of everything, even if that means those that use the most exotic (read:expensive) materials fabricated through the most painstaking processes. But I’m thinking that adds cost. I’m impressed that Apple was able to deliver the Ultra undercutting the cost of the Garmin. I think they made good trade-offs in terms of material and cost.

I mean sapphire is not “valuable”. I feel like this notion is made up by the watch industry. It is more expansive than glass, but not by a whole lot. Also, titanium watches are generally extremely light, more or less like plastic watches. The Garmin could have a GShock style construction, with a solid core and a plastic bumper on the outside.

Hey @JerryRigEverything! I just found out, that there is a difference between the Glass of the GW5 and GW5 Pro. It seems like even though both of them have Sapphire Crystal, the GW5 Pro Sapphire Crystal is harder?! 24 GPa for GW5 and 29 GPa for GW5 Pro. Could you test this claim? 😀 Keep up the good Work! <3

Regardless of the Sapphire durability, the AW design looks like it’s made for women. Being a man, I’d never wear an AW. Man up and wear a Garmin, Suunto, or Coros.
