Citronella and Lemon Eucalyptus Keep Bugs Away??

Citronella and Lemon Eucalyptus Keep Bugs Away??

doTERRA recently released two new oils that we are excited to use when we are bugged with bugs! Get it? Introducing Citronella and Lemon Eucalyptus. But do they really work? And how should we use them?

► Citronella essential oil // Apply topically or use aromatically to deter unwanted pests. It works because it masks the smell of humans that these bugs find so appealing. YES PLEASE. Make us invisible to all bugs. Ditch those citronella candles and diffuse this oil instead to ward off insects–especially mosquitos. (Bonus is that you don’t have to worry about your kids burning down your house.) You can also use to to clean surfaces–especially outside tables and chairs before a gathering or family dinner.

Did you know that Citronella can block sulfide odors? Also know as the smell that lingers in the bathroom, if you know what I mean. Of course this smell is unique to men only, because women don’t do that. 😉

► Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil // The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine found this oil to have 97% protection against bugs for 4 hours. NEED WE SAY MORE?

Jenn has visited the farms where Lemon Eucalyptus is sourced in Kenya. She put those bug protection properties to work and came home with ZERO insect bites. That’s pretty powerful proof.

What do you use to naturally protect you against bugs? Let us know in the comments!
