Aquamarine Crystals by GIA. What are aquamarine crystals? This video provides an in-depth look at the aquamarine gemstone in its crystal form. It discusses three magnificent examples of high-quality, rare aquamarine stone and their different qualities. The first is a specimen that displays intergrown aquamarine and pink beryl. This is a rare occurrence, as both colors beautifully intact. The second aquamarine crystal example is from Colombia, two columnar and prismatic aquamarine crystals that have grown together. The final example of a fine aquamarine crystal is from Brazil and weighs more than 300 carats. It features a noteworthy shape, with a more transparent section on the crystal. Aquamarine crystals range from tiny to very large, and some even weigh up to one hundred pounds. Cutting is important, as well-cut gems show brilliance in the aquamarine color.
